The Rock vs. Roman Reigns is a match that has been anticipated by the WWE Universe for ages. For the last decade, this match has been continuously postponed, year after year. It looked like it was on the palm of the hands of the fans at WrestleMania XL. However, due to Cody Rhodes‘ story, it was once again pushed back. Now, a massive update has emerged on this blockbuster match for WrestleMania.
According to WRKD Wrestling, WWE is once again planning to postpone the dream match between the Final Boss and the Tribal Chief. It has been reported that the plan is to have this match at WrestleMania 42. For WrestleMania 41 in Las Vegas, WWE is more likely to have the Great One go up against Rhodes for the Undisputed Championship.
Moreover, this match between the People’s Champion and the American Nightmare was teased in April on the Raw after WrestleMania. Despite that, fans are still invested in the potential clash between the real-life cousins. It needs to be noted that there is a possibility of WWE hosting WrestleMania 42 in London. Therefore, this match can be a massive headliner for the first ever international Show of Shows.
Furthermore, The Rock is almost confirmed to be back in January next year. He is expected to be a part of Raw on Netflix, as reported earlier. With the current direction of The Bloodline story, a match against Reigns can be on the cards. This uncertainty makes it exciting to see how things will go from here until the eventual return of the Brahma Bull.
John Cena claims Roman Reigns to be better than The Rock
Roman Reigns changed the trajectory of WWE with his 1316-day title reign. Reigns garnered a lot of praise from fans and wrestlers alike for playing a major role in catapulting WWE to its current peak. Speaking of that, John Cena had an interesting take on the credibility of the Tribal Chief as he went on to weigh him over The Rock.
While speaking on the Club Shay Shay podcast, the Cenation Leader said that he believes the Head of the Table is greater than the People’s Champion. He added that the exponential rise WWE has seen in the past few years is all due to the Needle Mover. Therefore, Reigns is head and shoulders above the Final Boss.
[The] Rock would be second [greatest of all time] ’cause [The] Rock did the same thing in the ’90s but this is the one time I can say this, ’cause [The] Rock is always number one. Roman’s numbers have been better than Dwayne’s.John Cena via Club Shay Shay
It was quite a polarizing statement. Paul Heyman even reacted to this following the interview. However, with an expected match down the line, fans will most likely get a definitive answer.
