When the Buffalo Bills traded Stefon Diggs to the Houston Texans, the thought was that the immediate aftermath of it would be felt by the offense. However, as it has now been revealed, cornerback Damar Hamlin is also at a loss, after his close friend had to move to a different state.

Damar Hamlin was on the podcast Maggie and Perloff on SiriusXM for the first time since Stefon Diggs was traded to the Houston Texans. He was also asked about the trade.

I was surprised by that. That's one of my closest friends on and off the field. So, hate to see him go. But you know excited for him to you know keep progressing in his career. I texted him we'll be close no matter the location. I'm glad that we were able to build our relationship. I appreciated every moment that we spent in Buffalo.
Damar Hamlin said

Hamlin was sad to see the person who was beside him at the most difficult time of his life, go away. But he is happy that his friend can progress in his life.

Stefon Diggs and Hamlin became friends after the Buffalo Bills drafted the latter in 2021. Since then, they have been close on and off the field. The superstar wideout was visibly upset seeing Hamlin suffer a cardiac arrest while on the field. He also went to visit his friend in the hospital.

The cornerback will miss his closest friend, who moves on to start a new chapter with the Houston Texans. The now-year corner will look to continue his friendship with Diggs over digital means as they are almost 1500 miles apart.

Stefon Diggs’ exit leaves many unanswered questions about Bills’ receiving group

The Buffalo Bills received a 2025 2nd round pick in exchange for Stefon Diggs. That pick will not be sufficient to help the offense this year. The reason is, that there is no one on the roster that can take over from Diggs’ Pro Bowl-level production. To make matters worse, his partner on the opposite flank Gabe Davis has also left the team.

Excepting Khalil Shakir, the Bills wide receiver group is made up of journeymen and late round draftees from the last couple of years. An incredibly shaky setup for superstar quarterback Josh Allen to thrive on. The only glimpse of hope for Allen is that he will still have his two reliable tight ends to throw to.

The Buffalo Bills lost 2 receivers who combined for almost half of their lead signal caller’s numbers. They will have to strike gold in a draft where fortunately a strong receiver group awaits.
