Floyd Mayweather is one of the boxing goats, but many people do not know that he had a tough childhood. Mayweather was born in New Jersey’s Hiram Square and went to school there until he was about 8 or 9. He then went on to become a 5-division champion in his career and turned his life around. However, it wasn’t until he was in high school that he really got into boxing.
In an interview with Fight Hub, Mayweather recounted his childhood and the hardships he faced. Floyd Mayweather revealed that he had to attend the Olympics alone due to his father’s incarceration and his mother’s drug addiction.
My mother being on drugs, Dad going to prison, and me just going to the Olympics by myself. Seven of us in one bedroom.

He also said that he dropped out of high school because of issues at home, but this proved to be a blessing in disguise, as he went on to become a millionaire within six months of dropping out. Hence, Mayweather had a successful amateur record of 84-6 and a legendary professional record of 50-0.
Despite going through a difficult childhood, Mayweather was able to rise to the highest level of boxing, becoming one of the most successful boxers in history. Furthermore, he achieved unimaginable wealth as he achieved success in the sport.
