Canelo Alvarez speaks about Gennady Golovkin! The sport of boxing is exciting and thrilling for many different reasons. While watching two warriors throw down brings an immense thrill, the defense displayed too is a piece of art. While there are many such technicalities for fans to enjoy, rivalries often add spice to the excitement of a fight. 

Whether it was Muhammad Ali and Joe Frazier, or Sugar Ray Leonard and Roberto Duran, boxing has always been known to have some epic rivalries. Similarly, Canelo Alvarez and Gennady Golovkin will be the two boxers whose rivalry shall be spoken about for years to come.

Having faced each other twice already, the duo is ready to square off for the third time. While their first fight ended in a draw, the second one was taken away by Alvarez. Going into this fight, Golovkin will look to avenge his loss. However, he does not have an easy customer as Alvarez is looking forward to disrupting his career

On September 17th, 2022, Canelo Alvarez will defend his WBO, IBF, WBC, and WBA super middleweight title against Gennady Golovkin at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas Nevada. Coming off a loss against Dmitry Bivol in his last fight at light heavyweight, the Mexican looks motivated and ready for this one.

During an interview, Alvarez spoke about his goal for the trilogy against Golovkin. He said, “That’s my goal. That’s my goal for this fight. No disrespect for him. He’s a great fighter. He’s one of the best middleweights in boxing history. But that’s what I train for. My goal is to end his career, his great career.” (h/t boxingscene.com)

The champion also seems excited to compete against Golovkin who will be making his first appearance at 168. “I feel hungry. I always train 100%. This is no exception. I feel motivated. I just can’t wait to be in the ring,” concluded Alvarez.

From his words, one can assume that Canelo Alvarez means business. With a fire lit within him due to a loss in his last bout, Alvarez will be a tough customer to deal with.
