The boxing bout took place on August 26, 2017, and Mayweather defeated McGregor in the tenth round of the fight. The fight made massive financial gains, and both fighters took home some hefty fight purses when it ended. Despite McGregor’s loss, many fans credited him for going the full match against one of the most technical fighters in the world. In an interview, when talking about his fight camp ahead of the McGregor clash, he said he didn’t do much training. “All I did was do push-ups and sit-ups. That’s all I did. Push-ups and sit-ups, box a few times; hit the bag a few times. Because, actually, the training camp was in different places.I would do a training camp in Vegas a few days. Sometimes I wouldn’t go to the gym for a week.” he revealed.
According to the fighter, all he did was push-ups and sit-ups in order to stay in fighting condition against Conor McGregor. ‘Money’ then revealed that he wasn’t taking the fight lightly but, more importantly, was thinking about having fun and giving fight fans a show to remember.

Floyd Mayweather is always ready for a rematch with Conor McGregor
Both Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather gave fans an incredible rivalry during their clash in 2017. The trash-talking going into the fight and the hype were something that fight fans would love to see again.
Mayweather made a lot of money from that fight, as did McGregor, and given their respective legacies, making a rematch seems like too good of an idea to let go. In 2022, Mayweather, during one of his exhibition bouts, confirmed that he and McGregor would fight again in the future.
The fighter then mentioned that at this age he isn’t looking forward to getting seriously injured in a fight and someone like McGregor who doesn’t hit that hard is the perfect choice for exhibition bouts in order to earn a big fight purse.
The potential rematch between Mayweather and McGregor has already generated immense anticipation among fans, not only for the financial spectacle it promises but also for the spectacle of two iconic figures in combat sports crossing paths once more.
