Rocky Marciano was one of the greatest Heavyweight boxers to grace the sport of boxing. His relentless and heavy-hitting fighting style made him a formidable fighter throughout his career. For his fighting style, he is often compared to Mike Tyson.
Iron Mike also struck fear into his opponent owing to his relentless fighting style. During an interview, Mike Tyson was asked about people drawing a comparison between him and Rocky Marciano.
Tyson replied, “Wow umm, believe me, I am flattered to be mentioned in the same breath as such a legendary fighter…but I really believe that I am Mike Tyson and that was Rocky Marciano and I am doing the best that Mike Tyson can do and really I think it was a privilege to be mentioned in the same sentence with Rocky Marciano and I think we are two different fighters.”
Tyson’s response shows how highly he held Rocky Marciano. Marciano was truly one of a kind fighter; he managed to be the only heavyweight fighter to overcome every challenger for his title. Ending his career with 49 fights with zero losses and winning 43 of them with knockouts. Even Mike Tyson was infamous for his punching power and possessed an intimidating style of fight. Tyson also made to leave a legacy as a heavyweight boxer similar to Marciano.

When Jake LaMotta labeled Mike Tyson as better and Stronger than
Jake LaMotta was considered one of the biggest Middleweight boxers of his generation. He was infamous for bullying his opponent inside the ring due to his dominant style of fight. He demonstrated a rough style of fighting inside the ring which earned him the nickname “Raging Bull”.
Jake LaMotta and a young Mike Tyson once appeared together in an interview. During the interview, Jake LaMotta had some big words for Mike Tyson. Jake LaMotta said to Tyson, “keep it up pal, you are gonna be a great great fighter…you are like Joe Louis , Marciano , maybe even better , you are bigger, you are bigger and stronger Marciano.”
Mike did live up to Jake LaMotta’s expectations. Becoming the first-ever heavyweight boxer to capture the WBC, WBA, and IBF championships simultaneously. Competing over 58 matches and winning 50 matches out of them. Mike Tyson’s talent helped him to transcend the sport of boxing and he eventually become one of the most renowned athletes around the globe.
