Back in January of 2022 fight fans were fantasizing about a matchup between Tyson Fury and Francis Ngannou. Even Tyson Fury embraced the idea when he posted a fight poster on Twitter.

Fury tweeted, “Who would like to see me fight this beast – boxing rules, UFC gloves? @DanaWhite @Francis_Ngannou.”  To which the then UFC heavyweight champion responded, “How about MMA rules with boxing gloves? I can do you that favor.” In turn, Tyson replied,”You want to come into my world, calling me and Deontay Wilder out to a boxing match…What I can guarantee [is] you would be knocked out and also paid your highest purse to be so! So have a think.”

Although this match never materialized back then, fans’ interest to see these two fighters face each other reemerged after Francis cut all his ties with UFC. Tyson Fury is currently holding the WBC heavyweight championship and is on a 33-match unbeaten streak since his professional debut back in 2008.
