Donald Trump is one of the most polarizing political figures in recent times. The former US president is a big fan of combat sports and frequently watches MMA and boxing. Being a hardcore fan of boxing, Trump didn’t lose his chance to experience the rivalry between Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder.

While talking about the fight, Trump mentioned how shocked he was by Fury’s performance. Trump shed light on how Wilder looks so great and ripped in comparison to Tyson Fury, but the Brit always had better skills than Wilder.

He said: “That was a fight where people were shocked because you look at body type. Deontay was like the most perfect physical specimen. Fury went down, I thought he was out and all of a sudden he just jumped upWell, he had a great win. He was given no chance. And body type, that’s not type for a fighter you don’t think. But he was so loose, he’s really a good fighter. And he’s a big guy, tall, 6ft 8ins, 6ft 9ins.” Trump explained that Wilder’s power was of no use against Fury as the ‘Gypsy King’ outclassed the American in all departments.

“He’s a very good fighter. Just a different kind of look, right? His opponent looked so beautiful that night, but it didn’t work out.” said Trump. Trump surely has good knowledge when it comes to analyzing fighters and their bouts. In terms of physicality, Wilder is amazing but Fury was able to outclass him which is extremely impressive.

Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder gave modern fight fans one of greatest rivalries of all time. The pair first fought in 2018 inside the Staples Center which was a controversial draw. 2 years later, the pair met again and this time Fury took the win via TKO.

After the fight, Wilder publicly went on a rant and gave several absurd excuses for losing the fight. The boxer was criticized a lot by the fight fans for his claims. The trilogy fight took place in 2021 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas and the hype around it was unmatched. The fight went for 11 rounds and both gave their best. The ‘Bronze Bomber’ wanted revenge but it was not his day. Fury knocked out Wilder in the 11th round and retained his WBC and The Ring heavyweight titles.

After the trilogy, many thought Wilder should retire and the fighter took a long hiatus from boxing. But the passion for boxing was still there as Wilder came back in 2022 and fought Robert Helenius and won the fight via KO. On the other hand, Fury who earlier this year announced retirement is now ready to get back to the ring in December.
