Anthony Joshua lost his heavyweight titles to Oleksandr Usyk in 2021 and failed to recapture them in a rematch against the Ukrainian. The English fighter is currently training to fight in the coming month and jump back into the championship picture as soon as possible. Meanwhile, Anthony’s ex-coach believes he might compete for a vacant championship in the future.
Anthony Joshua‘s former trainer Robert Gracia appeared in an interview with Fight Hub TV and speculated about Anthony fighting for a vacant title in the near future. Robert said, “if Fury and Usyk fight, maybe the winner will most likely retire. Roberto believes the winner of the fight between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua will make millions of dollars and will eventually retire leaving four heavyweight titles up for grabs.
Roberto also opened up about his views on parting ways with Anthony. He said, “I think you know Anthony is a great person…He is a talented athlete …I called him he told me that he was going to come to the state to look around you know I have no problem with that …its the best thing for him to train in the states.”
Anthony Joshua parted ways with Roberto Garcia after his defeat to Oleksandr Usyk last year only after training for one fight together. He is most likely to join Derrick James in his boxing gym in Texas. According to boxing promoter Eddie Hearn, Anthony is most likely to compete in April or May.
Roberto Garcia believes he did a good job with Anthony Joshua despite his failure

Anthony Joshua left Rob McCracken to train with Robert Gracia after losing his heavyweight championships back in 2021. Eventually, he lost his rematch also but did come close to snatching back his gold from Oleksandr Usyk.
Despite the loss, Robert Gracia believed he did manage to get the better out of the British boxer. Speaking to ES NEWS about the fight Robert said, “I went in there against Usyk and we still did better than anyone expected…It doesn’t matter who it is, when he comes back, I know they’re going to pick him two or three easy fights so that’s going to make any trainer look good”. Garcia also urged Anthony to come out of his comfort zone he wants to get back at the top.
Anthony Joshua has been competing as a professional since 2013 and has an overall record of 24-3. AJ has captured the Heavyweight championship twice in 2016 and 2019 and is looking forward to being a three-time heavyweight champion.
