Mike Tyson is unarguably one of the most dangerous boxers of all time. The youngest-ever heavyweight champion was a beast inside the ring and demolished most of his opponents throughout his career. Tyson has a record of 50-6 including 40 wins via knockout. Iron Mike was always intimidating to fight with and he utilized this fear against his opponents. To get that level of confidence as a heavyweight boxer of the world, Tyson had to build a mindset that was different from any normal fighter.

While talking about the same, Tyson mentioned that once while talking with his mentor, Cus D’amato, he asked if could beat the whole population of the world in a fair fight. Mike Tyson also mentioned that back then he used to regret not being able to kill his opponents inside the ring. According to the former boxer, the only goal he had was to be the best and for that, he wanted to beat his opponents so that they could not stand up.

“How many people in this planet around 5 billion? I said I could beat anyone of them in a fair fight and I don’t think that way now. I was just disappointed that I didn’t kill them that day. Cause that was just my main objective. I wanted to succeed so bad and the fear of not succeeding was worse than dying. So I just wanted to make sure that they never got up,” said Mike

To achieve that kind of temperament, Tyson trained his body and mind to the extreme. He had a smaller reach when compared to other heavyweights of his generation but his power and agility compensated for it. He remained dedicated to his training regimen for years to be the best in the world.

It’s well known that Mike Tyson’s mentor and coach, Cus D’amato scouted him from the streets and showed him the way to greatness. However, harnessing Tyson’s natural talent required a lot of hard work.

During one interview, Tyson discussed in detail his training program during his young boxing days. Tyson revealed that he used to do a lot of cardio and conditioning training with intensive abdomen training.  He said: “I get up in the morning. I run four miles then I walk ten miles. I come back and I do 25,00 sit-ups and may do some push-ups. You go to the gym, you box eight-nine rounds then you do abs again.”
