Floyd ‘Money’ Mayweather Jr. is regarded as one of the best boxers of all time. During his time, the fighter built up a lot of bad blood among other fighters. Strangely, the 46-year-old also has built up resentment toward non-fighters. One of whom is a rapper, 50 Cent. Floyd and the New Yorker have had a long-standing beef despite their friendship prior to it.

The friendship between Floyd Mayweather and 50 Cent went sour during Floyd’s prison release. The rapper claimed that the 46-year-old owed him money. Since then, the relationship between the two got worse. Furthermore, the boxer went on to insult 50 Cent during interviews. This made the ‘G-Unit’ go on to troll Floyd Mayweather every chance they got. Additionally, the rapper went on to challenge Floyd to read a Harry Potter book for charity.

In the video, 50 states, “If you could read one full page of a Harry Potter book, I’ll give $750,000 to whatever charitable organization you want to,” going on to throw a bucket of ice on the ground. “We don’t want to put pressure on you. We know you can’t pronounce the words in the Harry Potter book,” referencing Floyd’s illiteracy. “So, we’re gonna let you read Cat in the Hat,” concluded 50 Cent.

Since then, the rapper consistently insults Mayweather. But, the world champion is yet to respond to the challenges and call-outs. The friendship that these two had prior to Floyd’s prison visit had been tarnished due to money and contractual issues.

Mayweather is one of boxing’s toughest fighters. Amassing a record of 50 wins and 0 losses, the fighter has made a name for himself in the sport. The 47-year-old has wins against the greats like Canelo Alvarez and Manny Pacquiao. The lightweight boxer has also gotten himself in trouble with the law a couple of times.

In 2012, Floyd Mayweather was accused of domestic violence by his ex-girlfriend And. She had accused him of abusing her in front of their children. Josie had claimed that Floyd abused her on six different occasions. And, she was not even the last victim of Mayweather’s! Since then, a lot of women came forward with their stories of how Floyd treated them.

On June 1, 2012, Floyd ‘Money’ Mayweather Jr. was sentenced to 90 days in jail after pleading guilty to domestic violence charges. Despite the 90-day sentence, Mayweather would go on to serve only 60 days.

Mayweather is currently 46 years old and still fighting. Although he is not fighting professional fighters, Floyd has been conducting exhibition fights against Youtubers like Deji and Logan Paul.
