- Aliyah Boston signs a four-year, $6.3 million contract extension with the Indiana Fever, making it the richest in WNBA history.
- Caitlin Clark and Aliyah Boston have developed a strong bond since joining the Fever as top draft picks.
- Boston's contract reflects her status as a franchise cornerstone and the growing recognition of star value in the WNBA.
When college superstar Caitlin Clark arrived at the Indiana Fever, she instantly bonded with fellow No. 1 draft pick and center, Aliyah Boston.
The two have become inseparable since, and their pre-game ‘You are amazing’ ritual is something fans and the media love to capture.
That is a far cry from the days when the two were battling each other in college, when their extreme competitiveness created some unwanted tension.
Boston revealed that she and her point guard hashed it out, and since then, they have been as good as two core teammates can be. The Fever also know that, and have made it a point to build rosters around the two youngsters and veteran guard Kelsey Mitchell.
The latter was awarded a deserved $1.4 million supermax salary, as she was a major reason the franchise went all the way to the playoff semifinals with Caitlin Clark sidelined.

After notching three straight All-Star selections and an All-WNBA second-team nod last year, Aliyah Boston became eligible to earn a fresh contract through the league’s newly-created Exceptional Performance on Initial Contract (EPIC) provision.
Aliyah Boston’s contract draws praise
Just a couple of days ago, A’ja Wilson reset the market with her three-year, $5 million contract. Now, Aliyah Boston resets it with her deal that becomes the richest in WNBA history.
She may have the richest contract in the league, but her average is not high enough to surpass arguably the world’s best basketball player.
Even though the Las Vegas Aces superstar received some backlash, Fever fans, and Caitlin Clark in particular, were happy that their team locked up one of their most important players for the next four years. Check out examples of those reactions below.
Absolutely 🙌🏻 congrats AB!!!!! https://t.co/CyBmK98ku4

Huge move. Aliyah Boston getting that kind of deal from the Indiana Fever shows she’s already a franchise cornerstone and the WNBA is finally starting to reflect star value properly.

Well deserved, her and Kelsey turned this team into a contender

Smart to lock her up now. Boston improved so much between year 2 and 3. She is already top 3 or maybe 2 at her position. At her age she will keep getting better for at least the next 3 years. Many athlete start peaking around 28 or 30. Big win for the Fever!

The WNBA era we prayed for is finally here. Aliyah getting that bag is exactly what the game needs.

Guess she did get that EPIC

She earned that salary

Well deserved congratulations

Aliyah Boston will earn $1 million this season and will see the rest of her salary rise over the remaining three years of her contract.
The EPIC provision will also enable Caitlin Clark to earn $1.3 million next season, and potentially $1.7 million when the 2028 season comes around.
Fever signs draft pick to WNBA’s new developmental pool
As of now, the Indiana Fever have eleven players signed to full-time contracts. They also have two more players on training camp deals, one of whom happens to be an Indiana Pacers guard, TJ McConnell‘s sister.

Then they also selected three players in the Draft this past Monday. Picking Raven Johnson may not have been a fan favorite choice, but she is in the mix to earn that twelfth spot.
That leaves the other two draft picks and the training camp signees to battle for the two development player spots the league introduced this season.
Now, that battle will come down to three for one, as the franchise signed second-round pick Justine Pissott to one of the developmental spots.
we have signed rookie, Justine Pissott, to a player development contract ✍️🔥

The reason why the Fever were quick to sign the 6’4″ forward before she has even practiced with the team is that the Vanderbilt star gives them a viable option at both the three and four spots. All others are guards, which is why they want the three to battle for the last remaining spot.
