No matter how much Caleb Williams improves for the Chicago Bears, social media will find something related to him to make fun of. Even after he secured back-to-back home wins for the Bears, there were a few snarky comments passed on his quirky habits.

The Bears stuck to their usual routine of starting slowly against the Los Angeles Rams as the visitors took a 6-0 lead. However, Roschon Johnson kick-started the revival with a 1-yard touchdown.

The Bears did not look back from there as Williams threw a dot to DJ Moore for a 9-yard TD and then set up D’Andre Swift for a 36-yard home call to make it 2-2 for the season for the Bears. Matt Eberflus’ men have now won 7 consecutive games at Soldier Field.

After winning the game, Caleb Williams was in a cheerful mood as he completed the game with 17 of 23 for 157 yards and 1 passing touchdown with a quarterback rating of 112.99. When he was heading inside the locker room tunnel, the #1 pick of the 2024 NFL Draft started jumping like a toddler to express his excitement.

Fans mock Caleb Williams for showing too much emotion while celebrating the win over the Rams

The 22-year-old has been the subject of several controversies while he was in college playing for the USC Trojans. From painting his nails to outrageous NIL deals—made a section of social media envious and began treating him harshly.

It got worse in his final season, in which the Trojans finished with a 7-5 record, missing out on CFP qualification. He also put a target on his back for allegedly demanding shares in the franchise that drafts him, and his father claimed they might pull an ‘ELI’ if he doesn’t end up in a favorable situation.

Nothing like that ever happened, but social media seldom forgets things, especially subjects that will ridicule the player.

Williams has previously made it clear that he wasn’t bothered by people joking about him painting nails or using a pink mobile cover. He has no reason to change because his main goal is bringing glory back to Chicago.

The best part about the Rams win for Williams is that he threw fewer incompletions and there were no turnovers, signaling the improvement in his game.

I think, overall, I am getting more comfortable. I have said this recently that I was two or three months or a year out of football, which is crazy to think about.

Caleb Williams said after the Rams victory

In his first two games, he had a 56% completion rate. 267 passing yards and two interceptions.

During the last two games, Williams completed 67% of his passes for 520 yards, 3 touchdowns, and 2 interceptions. It clearly shows that slowly but surely the 2022 Heisman Trophy winner is starting to find his feet in the NFL.
