- Both players engaged with a fan's social media post about attending Roland Garros, with Djokovic and Alcaraz leaving supportive comments.
Neither Carlos Alcaraz nor Novak Djokovic is in action at the moment. They both withdrew from the ongoing Madrid Open due to an injury.
Alcaraz suffered a wrist injury during the Barcelona Open, as a consequence of which, he handed the walkover to Tomas Machac in the second round before he announced his withdrawal from the Madrid Open as well.
Djokovic was last seen in action in the fourth round of this year’s Indian Wells. They suffered a three-set defeat at the hands of defending champion Jack Draper.
Recently, they both reacted to a post shared by Alex The Pro Tennis on Instagram. In the clip, a kid asks his father, “Dad, how many likes to go to Roland Garros?” His dad’s answer upset the boy when he said, “Ten million likes and Alcaraz has to leave a comment“. The kid looked disappointed because “that’s impossible“.
But they might have found themselves on cloud nine after Djokovic dropped a comment, writing, “Does my comment help a bit?” Then came Alcaraz’s comment: “It should be enough but here i am just in case“.
Check out the post here:
Alcaraz won’t lose any points for skipping the Madrid Open because he skipped the tournament last year as well due to an injury. He won’t be defending 3,000 points at the Italian Open and the French Open as he withdrew from both events.
This kid asked how many likes on his video it would take for his dad to take him to Roland Garros:

Djokovic, on the other hand, has played one final this year. He reached the title clash of the Australian Open after battling past Jannik Sinner in five sets, but failed to beat Alcaraz in the final.
Juan Martin del Potro explains how Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner get closer to the Big 3
Juan Carlos Ferrero compared Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner to those of Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, and Novak Djokovic. The Big 3 won a combined 66 Grand Slam titles, while Sincaraz has lifted a combined 11 Majors.

It’s a difficult one. Difficult one to answer. Of course, Carlitos and Jannik are playing magnificent tennis. They are so good, they are playing well on all surfaces, which is very important. But I can’t compare them with the Big Three. The other guys, for me, are very special. I played my whole career with them. I know how good they are, how difficult it was to achieve everything that they have done for tennis.
Juan Martin del Potro said during his interview with Tennis365
Sinner and Alcaraz, in fact, have won the last nine Majors. Next Major is the Roland Garros, where the Italian will be bidding to complete the Career Grand Slam. Had Alcaraz played, he would have been chasing his third consecutive title.
I also know that Carlitos and Jannik have a big opportunity to get closer to them, because tennis now is open, and they are playing much better than the rest. So in my point of view, they have big chances to keep winning the big tournaments.
Juan Martin del Potro added
Sinner is competing at the Madrid Open. Before arriving in the Spanish capital, the four-time Grand Slam champion lifted the Indian Wells, Miami Open, and the Monte-Carlo Masters.
This made him only the second man, after Djokovic, to win the first three Masters 1000 of the season. Sinner is also the fourth man after the Big 3 to win four consecutive Masters 1000s, as last year, he clinched the Paris Masters against Felix Auger-Aliassime.
In Indian Wells, he went past Daniil Medvedev, while in Miami, his opponent was Jiri Lehecka. The Madrid Open is the only Masters 1000 where the 24-year-old has yet to reach the semifinals and has made the quarterfinals just once, in 2024.
