There are no more legacy year drivers left in the NASCAR Cup garage since Kevinn Harvick’s retirement from Stewart Haas Racking in the 2023 season. With the retirement of the 2014 Cup champion a new set of veterans, such as Martin Truex Jr., Kyle Busch, Joey Logano and Denny Hamlin, took over the lead role in the sport.

Just like Kevin Harvick, many of these veterans has over the years only showed signs of progression on and off the track. So ahead of the Watkins Glen playoff race, Sonoma Raceway shared a reel on their social media page where driver picked their counter parts who they think “aged like fine wine” over the years.

Two times champion Kyle Busch and 2020 Champion Chase Elliott picked the same person as their answer. They picked 2017 champion Martin Truex Jr. and Busch even explained the reason for choosing his ex-JGR teammate.  One reason that made Busch choose Truex Jr. is the fact that they both have been racing each other for longtime and always been competitive.

I give Truex the nod. He's probably one of the older guys, but him and I have been around for a long time.

Bubba Wallace and Joey Logano makes solid choices as well

23XI Racing driver Bubba Wallace when asked about the same question surprisingly picked 2021 Cup champion Kyle Larson. They both are almost the same age and broke out in the same era. The pick shows how much Wallace respects the No:5 HMS Chevy driver.

I'll give him that trait. He came into the Cup scene looking a little. ... I don't even know how to describe it.
Bubba Wallace said.

Unlike Wallace, two times Cup champion Joey Logano picked a pure veteran. Hilariously he picked himself over his fellow veterans, a solid choice regardless considering his impressive rise in NASCAR over the years.

If we're not talking looks, I'd like to think I'm getting to be a better driver these days.
Joey Logano said.

The choice made by the star driver though very different makes a lot of sense. At the end of the day the leading veterans of the current grid in Hamlin, Busch, Logano and Truex Jr. are the best choice available.
