Fans of the Green Bay Packers aren’t used to seeing their team lose at Lambeau Field. They are currently on a losing streak, which widened on Thursday night. The situation became heated as boos reverberated through the iconic establishment. Wide receiver Christian Watson shared his honest thoughts about fans displaying their frustration toward the players.

Watson has been one of the few bright spots in an otherwise bland Packers offense through that dry spell. Watson caught 7 passes on 10 targets for 96 yards and 1 touchdown. He improved his tally to 17 receptions for 284 yards and 4 touchdowns in three starts.

However, the Packers conceded 35 points to a Falcons team that started the season with consecutive losses. Fans lost their cool and booed the players.

Instead of lashing out like Deshaun Watson, the 27-year-old wideout admitted that fans have every right to be angry with the team.

At the end of the day, it’s an entertainment business, so we have to put a better product out on the field if we want to have the fans [to have] our back. Obviously, we like to think that the fans will be there through the ups and downs, but we’ve got to put out a better performance than that.

The Packers are 1-7 in their last eight games (including playoffs). Their last win at Lambeau came against the Chicago Bears on December 7, 2025. Quarterback Jordan Love threw 17 completions for 234 yards, 3 touchdowns, and 1 interception. Christian Watson caught 4 passes for 89 yards and scored 2 touchdowns.

They lost five straight games, including multiple defeats against the Bears, to end the season. A loss against Minnesota on opening day soured the mood. But the come-from-behind success in New York against the Jets sparked renewed optimism. It lasted until the midweek horror show.

Tight end Tucker Kraft, who caught 4 passes for 26 yards, said that it was disappointing to hear the boos at Lambeau.

I don’t picture boos. I picture my home stadium. That’s tough. It’s pretty disappointing, especially for a home opener. It’s pretty disappointing.

Matt LaFleur signed an extension in the offseason despite the losing streak. His job is under the scanner for the next few weeks. If the losses pile up, then the Packers might look for an alternative.

Christian Watson has had an injury-laden NFL career

The 6-foot-4 Watson has dealt with several setbacks since becoming the Packers’ 34th pick in the 2022 draft. He underwent minor knee surgery that kept him out of his first OTAs as an NFL player. During the season, he suffered a hamstring injury and a concussion.

The following year, Watson suffered multiple hamstring strains (one in late August during training camp and another re-aggravation in December against the Kansas City Chiefs) that caused him to miss significant time. In 2024, he sustained a Grade 2 ankle sprain in September and minor knee bruises. On the final day, he tore his ACL.

As Watson’s rookie contract was ending, the Packers extended him by one year. But he started the 2025 season on the PUP list to rehab his ACL tear, which kept him out of the first seven games. While facing the Denver Broncos in December, he suffered a chest/rib injury.

In June of 2026, Watson signed a four-year, $110.5 million extension. So far, he has accumulated 150 catches for 2548 yards and 24 touchdowns. He also has two rushing touchdowns.
