“That’s all bulls**t,” CM Punk lashes out at claims citing that he’ll snap during current WWE run following disastrous AEW exit

The Second City Saint didn't have the best of farewells from AEW, which was tarnished by a number of backstage issues.

CM Punk has been happy as a clam since his WWE return last year. One might find it similar to how he was when he initially debuted in All Elite Wrestling. However, the way it concluded was really a shame. Despite palpably being in a better state of mind right now, is there a chance Punk snaps and bottles this second inning he’s on with WWE?

Quashing such a theory at the WWE Fanatics Fest this afternoon, CM Punk said none of that is reality. Though he admitted that he’s not nice to everyone, the 45-year-old affirmed that he treats people accordingly. As they say, what goes around comes around. The former World Champion threw those under the bus who spread lies about him.

One infamous incident that quite possibly marred his standing in AEW was the notorious All Out media scrum in 2022. Nestled beside prez Tony Khan, Punk casually went off on Adam Page, also dragging the incompetent EVPs, The Elite, viz., Young Bucks and Kenny Omega, in the process. It resulted in a backstage scuffle and had grave repercussions.

That's all bullshit. None of that stuff is reality. The, 'Oh he's a cancer' - and listen, not everybody gets nice me. But, I treat you accordingly.

Fans hoped that things would change with time. At first glance, they did, but only transiently. By that time, there was already some sort of animosity towards The Best in the World within AEW. The thing that acted as the final nail in the coffin was his fallout with Jack Perry at All In pay-per-view in London. It had weeks of baggage.

The situation was exacerbated when Perry asked Punk to cry him a river on national television. They had a shoot fight in the gorilla position, the footage of which was even aired by AEW in April. After that confrontation, Punk was fired by Tony Khan.

CM Punk eyes dream matches with The Rock and Steve Austin

Although CM Punk has to settle his score with Drew McIntyre first, he’s already looking past him. At the Fanatics Fest, the Chicagoan was asked whether he’d like to rekindle his rivalry with The Rock. The two met in 2013 at the Royal Rumble, where The People’s Champ ousted Punk for the WWE Championship.

It eventually denied The Straight Edge Superstar a main event spot at WrestleMania 29 against John Cena. It appears like Punk is all for a rematch with Rock. He also pointed out how there had been rumors of his potential clash with ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin.

Sign me up. They were asking me about Steve Austin over there. WrestleMania is two nights. Give me Steve one night, give me Rock on Night Two, let’s go!

Knowing that WrestleMania is now a two-night spectacle, The Second City Saint wants to face Austin on night one and Rock on night two. The fans would definitely be up for those showdowns. As for now, he’s lined up for a strap match with Drew McIntyre at Bash in Berlin.
