Despite bagging an impressive win in his home state of Georgia, the aftermath of Bad Blood was a nightmare for Cody Rhodes.

It has started going downhill for Cody Rhodes. As if he were not heckled by The Bloodline already, he’s now got an irate Kevin Owens to worry about. The latter reached his boiling point last weekend, where he took out the Undisputed WWE Champion in a parking lot brawl post-Bad Blood. Rhodes has now broken the ice on the matter.

Speaking to Manchester Evening News, The American Nightmare didn’t mince his words. He outright stated how he’d come across as a fool by denying what transpired that night in Atlanta. Cody alluded to the video proofs of Owens unloading on him circulating on social media. The 39-year-old laid emphasis on the cutthroat competition this industry exudes, adding that everyone dreams of making it to the top.

Without even naming, Cody subtly provided a rationale behind Kevin’s change of heart towards him. The latter’s been instrumental to Rhodes in his journey of finally overcoming The Bloodline, as Owens had taken multiple bullets for the ex-AEW EVP en route to his coronation at WrestleMania XL.

In terms of how I feel but I will tell you this. It’s a very passionate industry, everybody wants the north star of our business which is the WWE championship and the championship that I hold at this time.

However, in recent weeks, KO appeared to be disappointed in his former friend, who decided to join forces with Roman Reigns at Bad Blood. It must’ve not sat well for The Prizefighter who’s been a career-long rival of Reigns. Another reason for Owens’ frustration could be traced back to Bash in Berlin. At the PLE in Germany, the French-Canadian failed to capture the undisputed title from Rhodes.

There was a point during the match where Kevin had the perfect opportunity to exploit the champion’s knee. But he couldn’t make it count. It cost him dearly, as he ended up losing. The fans called him out for lacking that killer instinct. Guess what? He seems to have found the way now.

Where does Randy Orton stand in Cody Rhodes-Kevin Owens saga?

One of the major aspects that’d been holding back Kevin Owens from blowing up Cody Rhodes was Randy Orton. Quite recently on SmackDown, KO was visibly annoyed with The Prodigal Son.

That’s because the latter inadvertently cost him a tag team match against Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu. That time, Orton took the entire situation under control. However, now that the 40-year-old Canuck has done the damage, it’d be interesting to see how Randy reacts to it.

The Viper had himself told Cody that his link-up with Roman Reigns wouldn’t be a problem unless he made it that way. Going by what transpired after Bad Blood, Orton’s prophecy has seemingly been proven true.
