Ace opening batsman Rohit Sharma has recently talked about his initial dating days with his wife, Ritika Sajdeh. India’s limited-overs cricket vice-captain revealed that he and Ritika were close friends before their mutual friends started seeing something more than friendship between the duo.
During a recent interaction with Dinesh Karthik on behalf of Sky Sports, Sharma revealed that he had a straightforward working relationship with Ritika who was and still is his manager.
“We actually never felt like that. We were working together. She is still my manager and she was my manager back then as well. We had a straightforward working relationship and after working hours, we were really close friends. I don’t care about what people think, my close friends said that they see something in this relationship,” said Rohit Sharma during the chat with Karthik.
“I started thinking about how to convey it to my friends”
The Indian batting maestro highlighted that initially it was just friendship and caring about each other. However, they later realized that their buddies were correct which made things difficult for Rohit to convey about it to his friends.
“It was just friendship and caring about each other. But, it later turned out that all my friends were right. I didn’t know how to inform my friends about it. When we started dating officially, I started thinking about how to convey it to my friends. I felt like these guys will not let me live,” the Indian opener added.
Rohit and Ritika tied the knot back in December 2015 in Mumbai and were blessed with a baby girl, Samaira in December 2018. Hitman also talked about his daughter in the chat while revealing if she is a daddy’s girl or not.
“Actually she loves her mama the most. I will say I am the second. I am happy with it,” Rohit concluded.
