  1. Most matches as captain

Former England great Charlotte Edwards has played 24 matches as captain, the most in the tournament. She shares the stand with Aussie skipper Meg Lanning who just needs one match to surpass the Englishwoman.

Lanning also led the Aussies to three T20 World Cup wins (in 2014, 2018, and 2020) and is eyeing her fourth one at the 2023 tournament. If Australia win, then she will also become the first captain-male or female- to lead a team to a hattrick of T20 World Cup titles. She is also six matches away from becoming the first cricketer-male or female- to lead a team in 100 T20Is.

  1. Total Runs

New Zealand’s Suzie Bates can become the first batter to reach 1,000 runs in Women’s T20I World Cup history. She has scored 929 runs in 32 matches. West Indies skipper Stafanie Taylor and Australia skipper Meg Lanning can also reach the feat as they have scored 881 (from 29 matches) and 843 (from 29 matches) respectively. Suzie Bates is also the highest-run scorer in Women’s T20Is with her 3683 runs.

  1. Most matches

India captain Harmanpreet Kaur is set to become the first cricketer-male or female- to play 150 T20I matches. She is just behind Indian Men’s team’s skipper Rohit Sharma who has made 148 T20I appearances. But as there won’t be a Men’s T20I series for India for a long time, Harmanpreet will become the first to reach that mark. She started in 2009 and has so far played 146 matches.

Australia’s star all-rounder Ellyse Perry holds the record of playing 36 matches in the T20 World Cup. She can surpass Rohit Sharma’s 39 appearances in T20 World Cups (male or female).

  1. Most wickets

Former England pacer Anya Shrubsole has 41 scalps at 12.48, while Australia’s Elysse Perry has bagged 37 wickets in 36 matches so far. Perry, South Africa’s Shabnim Ismail, and West Indies’ Stafaine Taylor are in line to surpass Shrubsole.

Pakistan’s Nida Dar is also just five wickets away from becoming the leading wicket-taker in Women’s T20Is. She is behind West Indies’ Anisa Mohammed who has bagged 125 wickets. Eylsse Perry is also closing in on the milestone, who has so far picked up 119 wickets.

  1. 3,000 runs and 100 wickets

West Indies all-rounder Stefanie Taylor and New Zealand’s Sophie Devine can become the first cricketer ever (men and women) to reach the milestone of scoring 3,000 runs and picking up 100 wickets in T20Is.
Taylor has scored 3,121 runs already and is just two wickets away to complete 100 wickets, while Devine has scalped 110 wickets and needs just 50 runs to reach 3,000.
