Many fans couldn’t accept India’s ongoing tactics at the ongoing World Test Championship (WTC) Final at The Oval. India head coach Rahul Dravid, who is a respected personality, even faced brutal trolling from the netizens. The social media fans even started trending #sackdravid on Twitter.

And now former Pakistan cricketer Basit Ali, who played 19 Tests and 50 ODIs, launched a scathing attack on Dravid, saying though he respected the former India captain as a coach, he is simply a failure. Ali took up various topics to indicate why India are struggling in the ultimate Test. “I am a huge Rahul Dravid fan, have always been and will remain. He is a class player, a legend. But as a coach, he is absolutely zero,” Ali said on his YouTube channel.

You prepared turning pitches on India. Just answer me this. When India traveled to Australia, were there similar wickets? They had bouncy pitches, right? God knows what he was thinking. Jab uper wala akal baant raha tha toh pata nahi kaha pahaado ke peeche chhupe thhe (God knows where he was when God was distributing brains),” he added.

Ali then added that India lost the match the moment they chose to bowl first. He blamed the Indian leaders for worrying for just two hours due to the overcast conditions. He slammed India’s bowling show, saying it was the bowlers displayed in the Indian Premier League (IPL). He also pointed out that except for Ajinkya Rahane, Virat Kohli, and Ravindra Jadeja, all the players looked tired.

The WTC Final title is slipping away from India with Australia enjoying a substantial 410-run lead after scoring 237/6 on Day 4. India on the other hand are on the cusp of losing two consecutive WTC Final.

If India end up poorly in the one-off Test, several factors behind the lackluster performance will be judged, starting with the exclusion of the No.1 spinner in the Test, Ravichandran Ashwin. Apart from Jadeja, Shardul Thakur, and Rahane’s innings, other batters simply flopped and couldn’t even cross the 15-run mark in the first innings.
