Australia pacer Josh Hazlewood is impressed by Virat Kohli‘s work ethic. Hazlewood shared the dressing room with Kohli while representing the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). However, injury kept him on the sidelines during the 2023 Indian Premier League (IPL) season.

But ahead of the WTC Final, he was declared fit and eventually included in the 15-member squad. India will lock horns with Australia for the one-off Test match which is slated to take place from June 7 to 11 at The Oval in London.

Hazelwood has his sights set on dismissing the Indian great in the highly anticipated final but at the same time, he revealed how Kohli’s unwavering work ethic is the reason behind his remarkable performance on the field. “I think it’s probably how hard he works (that stands out),” Hazlewood told the ICC.

His fitness first of all and then his skill work and batting and fielding in particular. He is always out there (training) first and leaves last…and the intensity he trains at all the time is at such a high level it drags everyone else along for the ride. That can leak onto the other players and improve them as well,” Hazlewood added.

India youngster Yashasvi Jaiswal was a late addition to the squad for the WTC Final. He replaced Ruturaj Gaikwad (who withdrew his name from the squad because he will get married in the first week of June) as one of the three standby players and on Tuesday (May 30), he attended his first session with Team India in London.

ICC’s official Instagram handle shared a clip on Wednesday where the Rajasthan Royals (RR) opener could be seen facing the likes of Ravichandran Ashwin and a local pacer and in the later part of the video, he could be seen getting some valuable batting advice from Virat Kohli.
