Tomorrow, that is on Friday (March 31), the cricket fraternity will witness the start of the game’s biggest league, the Indian Premier League (IPL), where ten teams will be clashing against each other to display spectacular games. Ahead of the cash-rich league, the prediction of who will be the winner has already started.
The season will see MS Dhoni leading the side again for the Chennai Super Kings (CSK), maybe for the last time. Then there is the buzz surrounding Mumbai Indians skipper Rohit Sharma who may not play all the matches to manage his workload because of the upcoming ODI World Cup in India.
Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) will face fans criticism if they produce a flop show despite having great names in the squad. And then there are the two finalists of last year- Gujarat Titans, the winner, and the Rajasthan Royals, the runners-up; both the teams will be eyeing to lift the cup for the second time. And a day before the tournament, former England captain Michael Vaughan picked Sanju Samson-led Rajasthan Royals as the favorites to lift the coveted cup.

Taking to Twitter, Vaughan wrote: “Can’t wait for the IPL to start… Looking forward to being part of the @cricbuzz team… I think it’s going to be @rajasthanroyals this year… they will be lifting the trophy in late May…“
Last year, Rajasthan Royals came close to lifting the trophy for the second time but were outclassed by Hardik Pandya-led Gujarat Titans. Jos Buttler was one of the main reasons behind RR’s brilliant season. He finished the season with 863 runs from 17 innings (second highest in IPL history after Virat Kohli’s 973 runs).
Apart from Buttler, Trent Boult, the spin duo of Ravichandran Ashwin and Yuzvendra Chahal, and Prasidh Krishna also played a crucial role in RR’s success. RR were the champions of the inaugural season under the captaincy of the late Shane Warne. RR defeated MS Dhoni-led CSK in the summit clash. This season, the Pink army will start their campaign against Sunrisers Hyderabad on April 2.
