Who would have thought Delhi Capitals (DC) will struggle badly to chase down a paltry target of 127? But they huffed and puffed to the target somehow to secure their first victory, against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on Friday (April 21) at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi.
Chasing the target, Delhi Capitals, like in their previous matches, did no things differently. Prithvi Shaw flopped again and David Warner scored his slow half-century again.
Then one by one, DC started losing wickets. It was a bit surprising to watch Delhi struggle like this while chasing the target. Mitchell Marsh was dismissed by Nitish Rana, then Phil Salt became a victim of Anukul Roy’s caught and bowled.

Axar Patel again stood up for DC
In the previous matches too, despite the top-order’s failure with the bat, Axar Patel tried to add a few more runs on the scoreboard. This time, it was no different.
DC’s batting has been exposed in all the previous five matches they have played, plus now also they faltered. But if it wasn’t for Axar Patel, DC would have faced another humiliation.
Axar remained unbeaten with a slow knock of 19 runs from 22 balls. Prior to him, another batter played a sluggish innings- Manish Pandey, who took 23 balls to score 21 runs.
Nevertheless, though they have to work a lot on their batting, this win by four wickets might be special for them, for it’s their first one after losing five matches on the trot.
