PAK pacer recalls altercation with Virat Kohli
Former India captain Virat Kohli often gets involved in sledging the opposition. Many of those incidents are still remembered by the fans; however, during a 2015 ODI World Cup match between India and Pakistan in Adelaide, he got involved in an altercation with Pakistani pacer Sohail Khan.
Nobody from either party has revealed what they said to each other but recently, the pacer recalled that moment on a podcast. “Virat came. He said to me ‘Aap cricket mein abhi aaye hain. And itni baate karte ho (You’ve just arrived and you speak so much). I had played Test matches in 2006-07. Then in between I endured a troubled knee which forced me out of action,” Sohail said on the Nadir Ali Podcast.
In that match, Kohli scored a century (107 off 126) and would later become one of Sohail Khan’s five victims. Courtesy of his innings, India reached 300/7, and Mohammed Shami’s four-fer bundled out Misbah-ul-Haq’s men for 224.
“I said ‘Beta jab tu Under-19 khel raha tha na, tera baap Test cricketer tha” (Son, when you were playing Under-19 for India, your father [referring to himself] was a Test player). That’s how I said it. Then if you see carefully, Misbah intervened, and he got angry at me. He asked me to keep quiet,” he added.

Virat Kohli played his best innings against Pakistan
Needless to say, Kohli has now become of the greatest batters in the world, and Sohail has only respect for him. “I respect him today because he is a great batter, amazing.”
Sohail last played for Pakistan back in 2017, but he hasn’t officially announced his retirement yet. Recently he played a match for Sindh in the Pakistan Cup where he scalped five wickets in three matches. He played nine Tests, 13 ODIs, and five T20Is for Pakistan, scalping 51 international wickets.
Kohli loves making a mockery of Pakistan pacers, and every time he faces them- the likes of Junaid Khan, Mohammad Amir, and now Shaheen Afridi– it’s a hit. He scored his highest ODI score against them, he has the highest average against them, not to forget, his best innings in international cricket came against Pakistan.
