Australia won the toss and opted to bat first. Opener Alyssa Healy could do less today as Renuka Singh dismissed her with off lbw. Beth Mooney was the high-scorer for Australia as she slammed 61 off 41 balls from her blade including eight boundaries. In 17.2 overs, Sneh Rana bowled a short one around the off after seeing Mooney danced down the track. Mooney still went through her slog and the ball went towards the long on region. It went high in the air as well and Deepti Sharma at mid-on ran behind and took it with her right hand while diving behind.

Aussia skipper Meg Lanning was the next high-scorer. He got bowled out quite interestingly by Radha Yadav’s spectacular fielding. Yadav bowled a flighted one and Mooney pushed it back to the bowler. Lanning meanwhile was out of her crease and she had to rush back. But Yadav showed that to dismiss Lanning, brilliant effort is needed. Yadav flicked the ball back through her legs without looking and it tocuhed the stumps and so with big OUT on screen, Lanning walked back to the dressing room.

Ashleigh Gardner scored 25 runs off 15 balls whil Rachael Haynes scored 18 runs off 10 balls. At the end, Australia reached a decent 161/8 in their alloted 20 overs. Renuka Singh and Sneh Rana scalped two wickets while Deepti Sharma and Radha Yadav picked up one wicket each.
