“Unbelievable Stuff”- Twitter reacts as Indian bolwers restrict South Africa to just 106/8

India is locking horns with South Africa for the first T20I on Wednesday, September 28 at the Greenfield Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram. Due to Indian bowlers’ spells, South Africa reached only 106/8 in their allotted 20 overs.

India skipper  Rohit Sharma chose bowling first after winning the toss. South Africa openers Quinton de Kock and Temba Bavuma’s knocks were short lived when they were dismissed on one and duck respectively.

Arshdeep Singh dismissed Rilee Rossouw on golden duck after taking the wicket of de Kock. On the next ball, Arshdeep sent back David Miller on golden duck too. Arshdeep in his four overs, scalped three wickets and conceded 32 runs.

Aiden Markram could score 25 runs in 24 balls which also included three fours and a six. But in the eigth over, Harshal Patel’s length delivery saw Markram shuffle across and he looked to flick but missed and it hit on his pads. Huge appeal was made but the umpire was said no. Rohit took it upstairs and it showed out.

Wayne Parnell played a knock of 24 runs off 37 balls with a four and a six. In the 16th over, Axar Patel’s full ball round the middle saw Parnell dancing down the track and smashed it towards the deep mid-wicket. The ball went off the bottom of the bat and flied towards Suryakumar Yadav, who ran to his right and grabbed it.

Keshav Maharaj scored most runs for South Africa. He played 35 balls to score 41 runs with five fours and two sixes at a strike rate of 117.14. In the penultimate over, Harshal got rid of him with a slower yorker around the middle and leg. Maharaj looked to push this away but missed it. The ball sneaked under his bat and went onto shatter the stumps.

At the end, South Africa could score only 106/8 in their allotted 20 overs. . Deepak Chahar grabbed two wickets, Harshal picked up two wickets as well.  Ravichandran Ashwin didn’t take wicket but he was very economic as with a maiden over, he gave away only eight runs in his four overs.
