“WrestleMania 2023”- Venkatesh Prasad with Aakash Chopra in commentary panel for WPL 2023 sparks hilarious reactions on Twitter

The inaugural season of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) is set to commence tomorrow, that is, Saturday (March 4). Beth Mooney’s Gujarat Giants will lock horns with Harmanpreet Kaur’s Mumbai Indians at the DY Patel Stadium in Navi Mumbai.

But even before the start of the WPL, Twitter fans have shown their excitement to watch high-octane clashes between women’s teams in the cash-rich league in India. But at the same time, they have come up with hilarious memes when they got to know that two former India cricketers, Venkatesh Prasad, and Aakash Chopra will be a part of the commentary panel of the WPL.

This news became a talking point in the town. A couple of days earlier, when India clashed against Australia for the second Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Delhi, KL Rahul’s inclusion irked Prasad. Not just Prasad, many in the Indian cricket fraternity did not want to see Rahul in the squad only because of his series of low scores. Though Rohit Sharma and management continued to back the out-of-form player, Prasad was furious with the selectors for ignoring young guns like Sarfaraz Khan and Shubman Gill.

Venkatesh Prasad and Aakash Chopra were involved in a heated spat on Twitter

Whenever Rahul flopped, Prasad expressed his anger on the micro-blogging platform. But Aakash Chopra did not like the way the Karnataka-born batsman was criticized continuously like this, and so he hit back at Prasad and inadvertently, it turned into those ugly Twitter spats.

Chopra asked Prasad to come to his YouTube channel for a proper debate, while Prasad expressed that he wouldn’t want to continue discussing the same subject with him. Prasad even dug out an old Twitter post by Chopra about how the latter thought about a young Rohit Sharma.

Though this went on the platform, fans also started taking sides. Some supported Prasad’s opinion, while others agreed with Chopra. And when KL Rahul was finally dropped from the XI in the third Test in Indore, fans came up with hilarious memes about Prasad.

Now discussion surrounding Rahul has subdued a bit, but not for so long though. When the names of the commentators for WPL were released on Twitter, and when fans saw the two, Venkatesh Prasad and Aakash Chopra, in the list, they quickly started creating and sharing memes on the platform.
