After Ben Stokes’ incredible century against Netherlands in the MCA stadium on 8th November, Pakistani cricketer Mohammad Hafeez started comparing him to Virat Kohli. In a tweet, Hafeez stated that players should bat selflessly like Stokes did and not selfishly. Many people immediately understood that he was calling Kohli selfish, as he mentioned that while covering the match.

Some of these people included Michael Vaughan, who decided to publicly mock the Pakistani batter. He proceeded to post a photo and video of how Virat Kohli dismissed Hafeez in their fixture of the 2012 ICC T20 World Cup. He also called Hafeez jealous of Kohli as he has dismissed him.

These tweets thoroughly impressed former Indian batter Wasim Jaffer, who regularly interacts with Vaughan. Jaffer tweeted out on how he had used a professional to banter with the former England captain as he thought he could learn something, which has happened. He believes Vaughan has grown a lot after he started to defend Kohli like an India fan.

Michael Vaughan says he has a special gift planned for Wasim Jaffer

After India beat England in the 2023 ICC ODI World Cup, Wasim Jaffer wished Michael Vaughan on his birthday by posting a photo of a cake and pasting a screenshot of an old tweet of the birthday boy. In the tweet, Vaughan talked about how England was the best white ball team in the world.

In the Club Prairie Fire podcast, Vaughan was asked about his interactions on X with Jaffer and his special birthday gift. Vaughan stated he was ready with another gift of his own for Jaffer and will give it to him after India lose in the World Cup against Australia. He also believes that the Ranji Trophy legend uses a professional social media manager and reminded everyone that Jaffer was his first Test wicket.
