Virat Kohli slammed his sixth century in the Indian Premier League (IPL) and joined Chris Gayle on the list of players with the most centuries in the cash-rich league. The best thing about this knock was that it came in a virtual knockout match, where losing against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) meant no qualification for the playoffs. But while chasing 187, the former Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) skipper went all guns blazing and racked up 63-ball 100 to guide his team to a comfortable eight-wicket victory on Thursday (May 18) at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad.

After the win, Kohli, who has often taken the internet by storm with his romantic gesture for his wife Anushka Sharma, video called her. The video of the same took no time while going viral all over the internet.

Kohli collected the Player of the Match award after RCB’s victory by eight wickets and at the post-match presentation, he talked about how he wants to stay true to his technique because the Test is coming up after the IPL. He also termed his sixth IPL century as a special one due to the importance of the match.

Quite special considering the magnitude of the game,” said Kohli at the post-match presentation. “Never look at past records (as they are not great against SRH). I put myself under so much stress already. I don’t care what anybody says on the outside. I’ve never been a guy who plays so many fancy shots. It’s Test cricket (coming up) after the IPL. Have to stay true to my technique,” Kohli added.
