Maharashtra skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad not only impressed with the bat but pulled-off a MS Dhoni style stumping in the ongoing Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy on Tuesday [October 18]. Gaikwad was quick to stump the opposition skipper Sanju Samson after the latter stepped outside the crease, while going for a lofted shot.

But Samson missed it and Gaikwad behind the stumps caught the ball; he was extremely quick to take the bails off. Samson departed after managing just three runs off seven balls.

Gaikwad is in fine form in the tournament, as he slammed two tons in four matches. He smashed his second sensational hundred to guide his side to a 40-run victory over Kerala.

Gaikwad won the toss and opted to bat first. He played like a lone warrior, smashing eight fours and seven maximums to score 114 runs off just 68 balls to take his side to 167/4.

Kerala failed to reach the target as they could manage only 127/8 in their 20 overs. Rohan Kunnummal scored the most for his team with his 44-ball 58-run knock. Satyajeet Bachhav scalped three wickets for Maharashtra.

With this win, Maharashtra leveled Kerala on the points table in the Group C match with 12 points. Group C is topped by Karnataka (16 points).
