Los Angeles Dodgers star Dalton Rushing found himself in hot water. The catcher dropped “fishy” accusations against the Colorado Rockies after they took down the defending champions 4-3 on Saturday.

The Dodgers have once again been the team to beat this season. They started the series with the Rockies while having a 14-4 record. They had just finished a 3-game sweep of the struggling New York Mets.

With a 7-1 win on Friday against the Denver-based side, it seemed the Dodgers would be on their way to another series win. The two-time defending champions were 3-1 up after the first inning on Saturday. However, the Rockies came back and took them down 4-3 to end a 4-game winning streak of their opponents.

It was in the 6th inning of this game that the Rockies pounced on the Dodgers. Against relief pitcher Will Klein, they picked up 3 straight hits. This saw them score 2 runs in the inning and take a 4-3 lead, which they held on to claim the win.

Rushing, who was behind the plate and played as the catcher, went 1-for-4 in the game. After the game, he made some bold comments regarding the Rockies and questioned the team’s first-pitch swings.

I just, I think it’s odd some of those hitters that do what they do. They go up there, and they were only on the first pitch that was thrown. So, it’s a little fishy.

The Rockies then seemingly took a shot at Rushing on Sunday. In the 7th inning, Mickey Moniak crushed a 2-run home run off Blake Treinen, which put them 5-4 up. In a post on X, the team dropped a 3-word message about Moniak’s first-pitch swing.

The Rockies eventually ran out as 9-6 winners and claimed a second straight win against the Dodgers. This was the first time that the Dodgers had dropped 2 games in a row this campaign.

Last season, these two teams had contrasting forms. While the Dodgers went back-to-back and retained the World Series title, the Rockies had a season to forget. They finished bottom of the standings once again with a 43-119 record.

Now, the Rockies have a chance to win the series. Another positive result on Monday would see them hand the NL West leaders their second series loss of the year.

Fans slam Dalton Rushing after his comments against the Rockies

Dalton Rushing was left surprised by the Colorado Rockies’ offense on Saturday. The 25-year-old later found himself in the spotlight following his “fishy” comments against his division rivals.

Users on X thrashed him for this take. Many called him out with several asking who accuses the Rockies. One of them wrote, “loser behavior” while taking a shot at the catcher/first baseman.

Rushing, who is in his second season with the Dodgers, is batting with a .455 average in 7 games. In his 22 at-bats this year, he has smashed 5 home runs and has 10 RBIs along with 2 doubles.

Dave Roberts shut down Dalton Rushing’s “fishy” claim

Dalton Rushing was seemingly left upset with the loss on Saturday. The Los Angeles Dodgers star then went on to make a strong comment against the Colorado Rockies. Dave Roberts, however, did not buy his words and shut down the “fishy” claim.

While speaking with the reporters, the Dodgers manager expressed that the pitches were, in fact, bad from his pitcher, Will Klein, and that the Rockies had done nothing wrong.

I saw some bad breaking balls. So, I don’t think there was anything fishy behind it. I think there were some bad pitches.

Dave Roberts said regarding Dalton Rushing’s comments

A win on Monday would see the Dodgers earn a split against the Rockies. They would be hoping for this as they then travel to San Francisco to take on their rivals, the San Francisco Giants, in a 3-game series.
