“My last chance,” Deontay Wilder joins Eddie Hearn’s team and discusses road back to the title ahead of fight against Zhilei Zhang

Deontay Wilder is set to return to the ring against Zhilei Zhang on June 1st at the historic 5v5 card. The event has been organized by the British rivals, Matchroom Boxing and Queensberry Promotion. Wilder spoke about what this fight meant to him and clarified that if he lost, it could be the end of his career.
The Bronze Bomber was once one of the top heavyweight boxers in the world. He was the WBC heavyweight champion and remained undefeated with an impressive knockout streak. However, this came to an end after his trilogy against Tyson Fury. Subsequently, Wilder did make a comeback against Robert Helenius but later lost his recent fight against Joseph Parker.

The unexpected team-up between Wilder and Eddie Hearn was already quite surprising since they were always on opposing sides. It reflects on how Wilder has reached a desperate point in his career where he has to bounce back. He also spoke about how he has been going through a lot and had to regroup himself.
Simultaneously, Zhang has lost his last fight against Parker and is in a similar position. Hence, the upcoming fight will determine the future of both their boxing careers.

After hearing them express their hostility toward each other, Deontay Wilder has now signed with Matchroom Boxing for one fight. This provided the Bronze Bomber with a career-saving opportunity. Hearn personally believes that Wilder is a man on a mission and is ready to redeem himself.
Subsequently, Hearn also shared what this fight means for Wilder and his career after his devastating losses. As such, the promoter believes that The Bronze Bomber has much more at stake than Zhang at the moment.
