The release of one of 21st century’s biggest survival horror game’s remake, Resident Evil 4 has stirred the hearts of the fans. Resident Evil 4 (2023) is remake of the original Resident Evil 4 from 2005 developed and published by Capcom.

There are many interactive NPCs in the game itself. Although one of the fan favorites from the original game of Resident Evil 4 is the dog that you find hindered by a bear trap early in the game. You are presented with the option to either help the dog or release it, each option having its own outcome. If you do decide to save the dog, it later comes to help you fight a boss called “El Gigante”. However in the trailer Resident Evil 4 (2023) there is a dead dog shown instigating players to think that the loyal trust worthy companion of the original game did not survive the remake.

In the game itself when you reach the point where you would find the canine, there is a dead dog there instead. This broke the hearts of many fans. However in Chapter 3 of Resident Evil 4 (2023), you discover that there is a dog the player can save behind the village chief’s house. The player is alerted to the to the dog’s presence by a whimpering sound. On reaching the location you are presented with the same options as the original Resident Evil 4 game. Like before if you do decide to save the dog, it comes back later to help you fight “El Gigante”.

What happens if you save the dog in Resident Evil 4 ?

Moost people would instantly think of saving the dog without any second thoughts. Well saving it has its benefit. If the player does save the canine, it reappears to help Leon S. Kennedy, the protagonist help fight off a boss in the game. The boss’ name is “El Gigante” , a humongous mutated zombie, found at the end of Chapter 4.

The cutscene where the dog appears is absolutely fantastic. The majestic figure standing on the cliffside letting out a loud howl with thunder in the background has always been a favorite of many players.
