Since its initial releases, GTA 5 and GTA Online have both remained among the top games on the chart. Rockstar Games released the game when interest in the Grand Theft Auto series was at its peak. Most gamers, and even those who don’t play many games, have at least tried one Grand Theft Auto game. Furthermore, recently, GTA 5 marked its 10th anniversary. And what makes the game so great is all the story mode missions, which made everyone fall in love with the game!
When GTA 5 came out, it fundamentally altered the gaming industry. GTA 5 brought forth a significant transition that left the open-world gaming industry changed forever. The game has also garnered a lot of popularity as a result of the persistent rumors that GTA 6 might be having an announcement soon. Moreover, the way that GTA 5 revolutionized gaming caused a stir in the gaming world.
Furthermore, the story of the game itself falls nothing short of perfect. Rockstar Games went all out with the production and story-making in the game. Furthermore, on top of having out-of-this-world mechanics, the game is more famous for its spectacular story mode missions. Let’s take a look at some of the best story mode missions in the game!

Top 5 best GTA 5 story mode missions
GTA 5 has a myriad of missions that fans love, making the game one of the greatest video games ever made. Some of these story mode missions left a huge impact on the gaming community and fan base. A lot of these missions are emotional, goofy, hilarious, and something heartbreaking or stomach-aching from all the fun players have. So, let’s take a look at the top 5 story mode missions in GTA 5. HOWEVER, PROCEED FURTHER WITH CAUTION AS IT CONTAINS MAJOR STORY SPOILERS!

The Third Way
The last story mode mission of the game is “The Third Way.” This is kind of a hidden mission, as right in the end, players are given three ending choices, while the third one is kind of vague. However, once players embark on this mission, it takes no time to turn into the best mission ever. Franklin has three options at the end of GTA 5, but only The Third Way appears to match his personality well. Furthermore, this mission is the game’s most satisfying conclusion.

The player has to frequently switch characters to keep up with the flood of opponents in the enormous, frantic gunfight against legions of thieves. The campy GTA tale is neatly and satisfactorily wrapped up as Michael, Franklin, and Trevor triumph against their mutual foe, giving players the freedom to explore Los Santos beyond the game with all three of the original crew still intact.
The Paleto Score
From what seemed like an early game heist mission, Trevor‘s entry to the game turned into something else entirely. This GTA 5-story mode mission was supposed to be a walk in the park but turned into a battle against all odds. Trevor emerges from the lobby to find a powerful police barrier in his path. The cops are wearing a heavy armor suit that is bulletproof and are armed with a minigun.

The player’s desire to keep checking Trevor’s life meter is replaced with the fear that police bullets would rip the money bags from his body. Furthermore, since Trevor is completely immune to small-arms fire, the miniguns tearing the bag down is a nuisance. The more skilled the players were in battle, the more money they won. Eventually, mercenary tanks rumble through the city as the crew makes a last-ditch effort to board a moving train before being overrun.
Friend Request
It’s one of the funniest missions in GTA 5 and probably one of the most inappropriate ones, too. Well, honestly, most missions in the game had some form of goofiness to it. However, this mission is hands-down one of the best among those. This mission makes fun of a lot of real-world sociology and societal issues. In this mission, “Friend Request,” Michael has to impersonate an employee to infiltrate a company made as a parody of Facebook.

Michael manages to sneak into this ludicrous company. This company emanates the most repulsive characteristics of real-world Los Angeles startups. Furthermore, to blend in, players have to buy a funky set of vests, shorts, and sandals for Michael. Since this mission is here for the laughs—and the smart, sarcastic language is where the jokes are delivered—what players do in the mission is actually fairly uninteresting.
Risk Assessment
One of the weirdest, albeit one of the best, story mode missions in GTA 5 is Risk Assessment. Take Two: The developers behind the GTA series were cooking something up when they wrote the story behind this mission. This mission touches upon a side of the supernatural but in quite a stunning and cute way. Franklin, one of the game’s three main characters, has an encounter with a barking dog. He further engages in a conversation with the animal.

Franklin is informed by the dog that a skydiver is caught in a nearby tree, and they jog to the tree while having a lengthy philosophical conversation. And that should’ve been the deal-breaker for players, considering the absurdity of the situation, which is a dog talking. Moreover, when saving the skydiver, Franklin tells him that he has a cool dog. To this, the skydiver replies, “What dog?” This makes Franklin jump, as there’s no dog when he turns around. This makes this mission absurd but cool at the same time.
The Big Score
Last but not least, another heist mission. Well, since it’s GTA, it’s a given that heist missions would be some of the crucial missions of the story. This mission takes place in the heart of Hollywood, or, as GTA 5 has it, VINEWOOD. Players need to use almost every skill in their arsenal to excel at this heist mission. The mission is, per se, pretty standard; however, the mechanics used in it are not.

From Planes to car chases, gunfights, and almost everything learned in the game so far is used in this mission. So, for this mission, players need to be sure that they have all the mechanics of the game down and learned to flawlessly execute this mission!
Well, these were some of the goofiest, quirkiest, funniest, and most emotional story mode missions of GTA 5. The game had a lot to offer, and it surely did. This is probably the reason for GTA 5 having sky-soaring sales. And the game’s hype still hasn’t died down despite being 10 years since release.
