Elden Ring: How to complete the Academy of Raya Lucaria?

Ever since its release in 2022, Elden Ring has been one of the most popular games among fans. With an expansive open world and tons of bosses to fight, Elden Ring provides players with an endless list of things to do. One of the most interesting areas of Elden Ring is the Academy of Raya Lucaria. It is situated at the center of the Liurnia of the Lakes.

The Academy of Raya Lucaria is the home to 2 major bosses in the game: Queen Rennala, Queen of the Full Moon, and the Red Wolf of Radagon.

The area is not too complex. However, players might find it challenging to navigate due to the level design of the location.

Guide to getting through the Academy of Raya Lucaria

In order to gain access to the Academy of Raya Lucaria, players need to find the Academy Glintstone Key. There are 2 Academy Glintstone keys in Elden Ring. You can find one of the keys on an island located west of the South Raya Lucaria Gate. The key is guarded by Glintstone Dragon Smarag. Behind the dragon, players can find and loot the sorcerer’s corpse for the Glintstone Key.

After acquiring the key, players can pass through the sealed gate and rest at the Site of Grace. Players can then take the elevator to their right to advance further. To reach the entrance, players must ascend the staircase and either kill or run past spellcasters who are spread throughout the academy.

Advancing in the academy, players will reach the boss room for the Red Wolf of Radagon. The Red Wolf of Radagon is an extremely agile and fast-moving boss in Elden Ring. It employs various magic attacks. However, the Red Wolf of Radagon has comparatively lower HP than other bosses. Players need to stay on the move in order to beat the Red Wolf of Radagon.

After beating the Red Wold of Radagon, players can advance through the new path that opens up and make their way to the broken staircase. Once on the staircase players will have to avoid a large boulder that spawns and rolls toward the player.

Reaching the top of the staircase, players will have to defeat the NPC invader, Moongrum, Carian Knight. Players can fight him head-on or use the lift to trick him into falling to his death. The path to the left leads to a locked door that players can now unlock. This acts as a shortcut as it allows players to not go through the large boulder.

Fighting Queen Rennala, Queen of the Full Moon

Through the door, players can head to the smaller courtyard and take the elevator up. Entering through the double doors, players will find themselves in the boss room for Queen Rennala.

In the world of Elden Ring, Queen Rennala is a very important character. Queen Rennala is suspended in a shield mid-air at the beginning of the fight. Players have to damage certain followers of hers that have a golden glow around their heads. Doing so, her shield will break, and players can now deal damage to her. However, she can go back to her shielded state, letting out a small explosion before doing so.

After finishing the first phase, a cutscene triggers the second phase. Queen Rennala becomes a lot more aggressive during this phase. She employs magic attacks such as icy crystals and magic spears. She will also make use of summons that will attack you for her. Players will have to use different tools at their disposal to defeat her.
