Epic Games aptly concluded Fortnite Season OG with the Big Bang event. Along with including an incredible Eminem concert, the event also gave us a preview into what is coming to the game in the future. Epic Games unveiled three new modes during the event: Rocket Racing, Fortnite Festival, and LEGO Fortnite.
The modes were fully revealed at The Game Awards 2023, after which they were added to the game. LEGO Fortnite is a refreshing deviation from the classic Battle Royale that Fortnite is famous for. The game shares many similarities to Minecraft, allowing players to hop in with a survival or a creative setting.
LEGO Fortnite started a partnership between Epic Games and the LEGO Group. To celebrate, Epic Games even gave away a free Fortnite x LEGO Skin. Epic Games has also added over 1,200 Fortnite Skins that can be ported into the new game mode and worn by your characters’ LEGO versions. Hence, their dedication to the new mode is unquestionable.
However, doubt persists in the minds of players. Fans have been wondering how long they can enjoy the Minecraft-styled mode in Fortnite. There has been precedent for the worry in the minds of fans. Many popular modes introduced to Fortnite in the past have been snatched away after a while.
How long will LEGO Fortnite be in the game?
It is safe to say that fans have no reason to worry, as the game mode looks to be a permanent addition to Fortnite. While announcing LEGO Fortnite, Epic Games commented, “This is only the beginning of the adventure.” This means that alongside the mode being permanent, fans could see exciting future additions to the mode or something new coming in 2024, as teased by Epic Games.
LEGO Fortnite’s lifespan partially depends on the partnership between the two firms. Since Fortnite is licensing the use of LEGO for this game mode, should that agreement come to an end, there is a massive chance that the game mode will disappear. If that were ever to happen, Epic Games would notify fans before the mode was set to leave Fortnite.
