After Sentinel’s disappointing loss to Fnatic at the VCT LOCK//IN and upsetting performance in the VALORANT Challengers League Americas, CEO of the organization, Rob Moore recently announced on Twitter that the team would be parting ways with the head coach Syyko. The strategic coach “kaplan” is set to fill in the vacant spot of head coach.
Sentinels are one of the biggest teams to come out of North America and have been a fan favorite since VALORANT first got its own esport. They had been anticipated to do really well in the tournaments but a disappointing start to the VALORANT Challengers League America with 1 win and 2 losses in the season has left the fans disappointed. With their star Duelist Tyson “Tenz” Ngo suffering a wrist injury, things couldn’t be worse for the team. Hours after the loss against Leviatán in the 2nd split of the VALORANT Challenger League Americas, the Head coach Donald “Sykko” Muir was dropped and replaced by Adam “Kaplan” Kaplan, the former strategic coach of the team.
Donald “Syyko” Muir was the former coach of American team, XSET. He had stepped up as the head coach of Sentinels on 3rd October 2022 helping the team achieve 3rd place in the Ludwig X Tarik invitationals in January. The CEO of Sentinels, Rob Moore announced that after a “difficult decision” the head coach Syyko would be replaced by Adam “kaplan” Kaplan. Kaplan had joined the Sentinels at the same time as Syyko as the strategic coach. Fans are hoping that this change to the roster can help boost the teams performance in the Americas League.
