True Gravity defeats Forge Your Legacy to win the Skyesports Pokémon UNITE India Open 2023

The Pokemon UNITE India Open 2023 was held on November 20th, 2023, in New Delhi, India. SkyeSports organised the event, which was the game’s biggest esports event to date. The event occurred in the KD Jadhav Indoor Stadium and featured over Rs 10 Lakh prize pool. The tournament begins with 10 teams. Eight qualify through the open qualifiers, while the other two are invited to the tournament.
The finals featured four of the top teams in the country aiming for the championship. These four teams had already qualified for the Pokemon UNITE Asia Champions League India Playoffs, regardless of the results at the event. Team Tue Gravity, Forge Your Legacy, Team Griffin, and FS eSports were the four teams competing for the prize. The teams will represent the country at the international offline event.
Team True Gravity remained unbeaten throughout the tournament, with most of their battles ending in a 2-0 score. They qualified for the grand finals through the upper bracket while Forge Your Legacy had to take out Team Griffin in the lower bracket to reach the tournament’s grand finals.

Team Gravity bags Pokemon UNITE India Open 2023
The two teams to make it to the finals were Team Gravity & Forge Your Legacy. After a gruelling battle for the championship, True Gravity finally came out on top. They put up a dominant performance and took down Forge Your Legacy despite their stellar performance throughout the tournament. Team Griffin and FS eSports took third and fourth place, respectively.
The prizes won by each of the teams are as follows –
- Team True Gravity (First place) – Rs 4 Lakhs
- Forge Your Legacy (Second place) – Rs 2.75 Lakhs
- Team Griffin (Third place) – Rs 1.75 Lakhs
- FS eSports (Fourth place) – Rs 1 Lakhs
Team True Gravity’s Hayrambh “Mereum” Rajesh Monga shared his thoughts after his championship victory. He mentioned how much work they had put into winning the championship and was grateful it paid off. Additionally, he talked about the journey that lay ahead of them. He acknowledged the grandiose of the Asia Championship League. He mentioned preparing to compete against other international teams was next on their agenda.
“We have put in a lot of work and thankfully it paid off but we know that the journey doesn’t end here. The Asia Champions League is a very big event and we’ll be competing with international teams so hopefully we will be able to prepare well enough for that,”

The top 16 teams from the tournament are qualified for the upcoming Pokemon Unite Asia Qualifiers. From there, these teams will compete to punch their ticket for the World Championship in the beautiful city of Thailand.
