Riot set to suspend Ranked Gun Buddy indefinitely in Valorant

A major part of Riot‘s business within Valorant comes from the various cosmetics that include gun buddies and gun skins. While some gun buddies and skins are considered to be aimbots, there are quite a few buddies that are extremely rare and cannot be found within the game. Some of these gun buddies can still be bought for a limited time from the packs that come into the store. However, in most cases, there are several gun buddies that absolutely are not available to anyone in the game.
One such gun buddy is the Riot Developers Gun Buddy, which the community has gone mad for since only a Riot dev is authorized and can hand out these gun buddies. Yet another of these gun buddies is the Ranked Gun Buddy, which shows the ranks of the players. These buddies can be collected as the player moves higher until he hits Radiant, after which he finally receives the Radiant gun buddy.

However, given how toxic the servers become, especially in the low elos and the amount of trolling that goes on, Riot has decided to suspend the Ranked Gun Buddy indefinitely from Valorant, at least until the competitive scene improves and there is lesser toxicity among the ranks. This means that new players will no longer receive their gun buddies in ranked matches after they level up. While this might be Riot’s move to help out the community, it will be interesting to see how the community itself reacts to it.

Valorant announces rank distribution in Patch 5.09
Valorant ranked games are some of the most intense gameplay moments which give rise to insane tactics and godly clutches, with players pushing to get to Radiant every season. However, the rank distribution in Valorant is not at all equitable, which means several of the players are divided among the lower and higher elos.
Valorant ranks begin all the way from Iron 1 and end up at Radiant, and have bronze, silver, gold, platinum, diamond, ascendent, and immortal in between, each of these elos is further subdivided into 3 parts. Some of the hard-stuck players find it extremely difficult to move out of the specific elos.
Within the data released, it has been noticed that 5.1% of the players are presently in Iron, 15.9% in Bronze, 22.9% in Silver. 21.7% in Gold, 16.7% in Platinum, 10.7% in Diamont, and 5.4% in Ascendant. Only 1.7% are Immortal, and since Radiants aren’t ranked, this constitutes the elo density within the game. It will be interesting to find out how the community reacts once these gun buddies are removed from the game.
