The Fortnite lore has been getting interesting every year with different characters trying out a host of new activities to defeat the primary enemy. The lore itself has evolved quite a bit ever since its initiation in Chapter One, and the community has preferred a more immersive gameplay. Therefore, to facilitate these changes and make the game more inclusive, Fortnite goes with a major theme of war between good and evil forces every season, and the Eternity War appears to be next season’s big activity.
Chapter 3 was characterized by the war with The Resistance, and this war itself has given rise to several prominent characters, most notably, The Herald. Since the developers keep on adding newer NPCs to the game, it becomes difficult to keep track of all the characters. However, the overarching war theme has remained constant and is also stated to continue into the next season. The developers have decided to call this new arc the Eternity War, which is probably going to take place after the events in Fracture.

In all likelihood, the present map Artemis will be destroyed after Fracture, meaning that the community will have to shift to a new map, possibly named Demeter.
As is customary for all new seasons, this map will feature the Eternity War as two of the strongest characters Midas and The Herald continue their battle for control of the new island. Midas’ highly anticipated return as the new anti-hero has spurned excitement in the fans regarding the movement in the lore.

Chapter 3 had introduced the impressive storyline after the Foundation rescued Jones from Dr. Slone, saving this island from the Cube Queen’s wrath. The new storyline in Chapter 4 Season 1, therefore, is set to feature a returning anti-hero Midas to fight The Herald. Epic Games has also decided to continue their partnership and keep hosting their game on the Unreal Engine, meaning there would not be too many drastic changes in the game mechanics.
The starter kit of Metallica Mina has already been leaked on the internet, and fans are highly anticipating some major changes. Popular collaborations are on its way, with Fortnite teasing over 75 new skins in development. Chapter 4 Season 1 might be released sooner than anticipated if the developers decide to skip Chapter 3 of Season 5 in-game. But overall, Epic Games is trying to make this one of their most inclusive gaming experiences next year.
