Rob “Robwiz” Kennedy was suspended from the Valorant Game Changers Championship after flicking off an opposing team on 19th November 2022. The incident happened during the lower-bracket Semifinals, where after Shopify Rebellion GC’s victory over Cloud9 White, Robwiz showed the middle finger toward them on stage, creating controversy and thereby leading to his suspension.
This suspension meant Shopify Rebellion GC played without a coach during their final match in the tournament against G2 Gozen in the Grand Finals on 20th November 2022. Along with his ban, Robwiz was penalized, as according to the following statement, he “was fined and has been warned that any subsequent violations of this policy will result in increased penalties.”

Robwiz’s behavior was a clear breach of ruling 7.1.2 of the Global Competition Policy, wherein “coaches must observe the highest standards of personal integrity and good sportsmanship at all times. Behavior that disrespects and insults the players of the opposing team is a violation of the standards expected of coaches participating in Valorant Game Changers Championship.” Under such circumstances, the officials had no option but to suspend him from the game.

G2 Gozen crowned champions of first-ever Valorant Game Changers Tournament
The lack of a coach really took a toll on their gameplay as they lost out to G2 Gozen in the first-ever Valorant Game Changers Tournament FInal. G2 has now created history, winning not only the maiden Tournament but also significantly without dropping any map in the game. After the highly positive response from the community, this tournament will probably return once again in the next-year off-season for G2 to defend their title.
The matches were a clean sweep, with a clear 3:0 victory for the champions. This was one of the most dominating performances in the tournament since G2 did not lose a single match. Without Rob “Robwiz” Kennedy, the team was really struggling to come up with different strategies to counter Gozen’s gameplay. Overall though, this has set up the scene for female competitive Valorant, and it will be interesting to find out where Riot take this for the next season.
