Since its debut 24 years ago, Counter-Strike has dominated the competitive first-person shooter (FPS) genre. Counter-Strike’s competitive eSports tournaments are one of the largest in the eSports industry. However, the in-game skin market for the game—which includes anything from guns and knife skins to stickers and more—is the largest in the video game industry. Furthermore, recently, xQc pulled out a factory-new Dragon Lore Awp skin worth over $15,000 in CS2.

Counter-Strike has always been really big on its skin market. The game has the biggest in-game skin market among all games. Recently, a fan offered DrDisrespect a whooping deal of $100K for the rare CS knife with the streamer unboxed. This shows how big the Counter-Strike in-game skin trade market amounts to! Moreover, with the release of CS2, the skin market is thriving as ever.

As the follow-up to Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Valve launched Counter-Strike 2 on September 27, 2023. This new version of the game has altered everything, and the in-game skins now look way better than they have ever been before.

Twitch streamer xQc pulls CS2’s first factory new Dragon Lore Awp Skin

There are many iconic weapon skins in Counter-Strike. Furthermore, skins like Karambit Blue Gem go for over $120K, thus making Counter-Strike’s skin market the best in all video games. Additionally, the best sniper rifle in the game, Awp, has some of the wildest-selling skins in the game. And specifically, the skin called Dragon Lore is one of the costliest skins in the game.

Moreover, after the release of CS2, the skin market is booming, and famous traders and streamers are once again in a race to pull out the best of the best skins this game has to offer. And xQc has become the first person in CS2 history to pull out a factory-new Dragon Lore Awp skin.

Dragon Lore is traditionally a really hard skin to get in Counter-Strike. The skin can only be acquired through a “Trade-Up” feature, where lower-tier skins from the same collections are used to get a higher-tier skin from the same collection. Moreover, the skin that’s widely used for the Dragon Lore trade-up is the M4A1-S “Knight” skin. The skin itself costs over $3k, so using more than one such skin in a trade-up contract, with low chances of pulling out a Dragon Lore, is risky.

However, xQc has done the impossible and managed to pull out CS2’s first factory new Dragon Lore Awp skin. The skin is worth over a whopping $15,000. Additionally, considering it’s the game’s first Dragon Lore, the price may increase more and more in the future. Fans are really thrilled to see what more skins will come out as the game matures further and further.
