Top 5 tips and tricks to ace Pearl map in Valorant
Here are a few tricks for you and your team to try out in the map of Pearl in Valorant!
Valorant is a 5v5 hero-based action shooter title developed by Riot Games and released in 2020. The game plays through with 2 sides going head to head against each other on different maps. The main objective of the attackers is to plant the spike on one of the designated sites and that of the defenders to avoid the plant and if planted, then to defuse it.
The game was initially released with only four maps but has since expanded its pool by adding 5 more maps. Bringing the total number of maps in the game to a whopping 9, which, compared to other competing games such as CS:GO, is still low, but considering the amount of time the game has been out, having 9 maps in the game and having released 5 new ones since the release is a huge deed for Riot to have accomplished.
Pearl is one such map that was released after the game came out and it is one of the more complex maps because of how far it is from the usual design and of course, the abundance of varying height structures. With that, let’s get into the top 5 tips and tricks to dominate Pearl in Valorant

Prefer Slicing Controllers on your team
You may be wondering what a slicing controller is. Don’t worry! A slicing controller isn’t some term you need to be afraid of. Instead, a slicing controller simply refers to an agent which is classified in the controller category that has the capability of cutting sites into smaller sections so it is easier for their team to gain control of the site.
There are currently only two slicing controllers in Valorant as of now namely Viper, who has been a part of the game since the beginning, and of course, the recently released agent from India, Harbor. Both these agents possess abilities that can create a wall through the site which can help block the enemy’s vision and help you gain access to the site better.
A slicing controller would usually help you out during both sides of the match but even more so during the attacking phase of your team as you’d be able to infiltrate sites more easily with their help.
Take control of Mid
Mid-control on the map of Pearl is a crucial aspect in every game which is played on this underwater map. This is one aspect that is very important irrespective of the fact if you’re an attacker or a defender.
If you are playing as an attacker in Valorant on Pearl, you need to be careful as to just how far you push onto mid as you might find yourself in an unfavorable position in the pursuit of kills. But at the same time, it is important for you and your team to keep an eye on the area since the defenders could use it to make very easy rotations and hit you with a backstab at any given time.
Whereas, if you’re a defender, you’d want control of the area for the same reason as the attackers – easy access. Mid provides a very easy path to both sites as well as the attacker spawn, and if you play your cards right, you could very well make an easy yet effective play to take out multiple attackers in one go.
Always check angles
Pearl is one of those maps in Valorant which provides a ton of hiding spaces for both attackers and defenders. There are numerous nooks and crannies that you could take advantage of and hide in to catch an unsuspecting player of the opposing team clueless. These areas can be really useful for both the attacker and the defender.
Spaces like the cubby on B long, or the boxes in Mid while moving in towards A site are places where players don’t usually expect players to be and skip out on checking. These are places that, although risky, can be taken advantage of at least once or twice per game on Pearl which could help in landing a few crucial kills that might win you that round.
Just as you could hide in the angles, you could always be hit from the same angles as well. Hence, make it a point to check every single angle you pass through to make sure you don’t fall for the trap set by the opposing team to catch you when you least expect it. In case that isn’t possible, at least make it a point to check the angles where you have been shot from in earlier rounds as there is a huge possibility that the enemy might hide in the same spot.
Use agents that clear angles for you
There are certain agent abilities that can help you clear angles without a second thought. Abilities such as Raze’s boom bot, Fade’s Prowler, or Skye’s Talisman, are all assets on the map of Pearl that should not be slept upon as they play a vital role in both, collecting information, and checking angles at the same time.
Using such agents would also help out in making quick plays as a team since you’d be able to clear angles subconsciously as your abilities would be doing it for you. You could also use your Paint Shells as Raze or other aggressive abilities which provoke damage if you are aware of an enemy’s location.
The possibilities for this aspect of the map are endless and there are numerous combos that could be played. There are other agents that could be paired here of course which have not been talked about yet but again, that’s the beauty of the game of Valorant – there are more than a few right methods to play it and innovation is always rewarded.
Utilise Shotguns to their fullest
Shotguns in Valorant are a category of weapons that people heavily underuse. In maps that consist of closed corners which can be used heavily for camping, shotguns can be your best friend in the game, be it the Bucky, or the Judge, or even the Shorty!
It will be an easy kill for you to simply camp in hooded spaces with a shotgun and wait for your prey to fall into your hands. Make sure you don’t hide in the same place twice in consecutive rounds or else the enemy might get smarter and pre-fire the spot to land an easy kill.
Conclusion
These were the top 5 tips and tricks for the map of Pearl in the game of Valorant for you to make sure you win as many matches as possible. And given the fact that the Global Beta for Premier has its matches for Pearl coming up, make sure you practice these tricks in advance and build up good comps with your teams!
