Valorant, the first FPS game developed by Riot Games, achieved huge success. Moreover, the unique mechanics and immersive experience of Valorant have greatly boosted its appeal. After three years since the game’s release, a sizable player base has grown. Additionally, the game’s developers are constantly releasing tons of brand-new content. The game is now in a new game mode after six months. HURM, or a Team Deathmatch.

Considering the use of abilities in this mode, players have to be picky with their agents. Also, there is a whole arsenal of agents in Valorant, all with different abilities. Furthermore, the roster is about to increase with the addition of the sentinel agent coming with the next update, Deadlock. Riot Games is going out with the game’s next update. Valorant has a huge agent pool, with multiple roles for players to choose from. And all of them come with unique abilities of their own. So pairing up suitable agents in the new team deathmatch game mode, HURM is important for a higher win rate and also for understanding the agent better.

Furthermore, considering the fast-paced nature of this map, along with the large number of covers available on it, the duelist sign makes the most sense. The duelist role in Valorant is a fast-paced role with abilities that let players beat out opponents easily. Let’s take a look at the five best agents for this game mode:

Raze

Raze is one of the older duelists in Valorant. She has an arsenal of abilities that are fatal to her enemies. All of her abilities are explosive, killing every enemy that she aims at. Especially her Blast Pack [Q] ability makes her one of the most mobile agents in Valorant. These black packs, or satchels as the community calls them, are a mobility boost for the agent, and when coupled with her ultimate, Showstopper [X], she becomes a beast in this mode.

However, players should note that her Blast Pack relies a lot on the in-game physics, so if you’re not well-versed in it, you may fumble the game. But this just makes this mode good for learning how to utilize her abilities in live combat.

Reyna

One of the most versatile agents in Valorant, this duelist has abilities especially tailored for hit-and-run combat. Reyna is a one-woman army by herself and can frag out opponents and get out of sticky situations easily.

The ability that helps in these situations is her Dismiss [E] ability, where she turns into a specter for a short while and her movement speed is amplified. Also, through her Devour [Q] ability, she’s able to heal herself after every kill, which is important in a death match. Moreover, her Leer [C] ability, which limits the vision of enemies throughout the map if a line of sight is established, tops off her offense well.

Furthermore, her ultimate ability, Empress [X], gives her a big boost in fire rate, and it has the feature of turning her invisible while also healing the agent. Furthermore, constant kills replenish the time of her ultimate, so the constant respawning feature can make her ultimate ability overpowered in Valorant’s team deathmatch mode.

Jett

Another movement-type duelist that’s the best for this mode is Jett. This Korean duelist in Valorant has the power to control the wind, and her ability to peak, frag out, and then retreat is essential for not just this game mode but the competitive play too. Her Tailwind [E] ability can be effective for peak and retreat types of combat. Players can turn Tailwind active, and, when coupled with Updraft [Q], an ability that lets her leap high into the air, she can turn into a killing machine.

Moreover, her ult, Blade Storm [X], is an ability that doesn’t lose accuracy even when players are levitating and not on the ground. This is a game-breaking mechanic. Especially the feature of her ultimate that lets her recall all her used blades with every kill makes the agent great for this game mode.

Neon

The duelist list for this game mode is never-ending, with Neon added to the fray. This Filipino agent is an agent that can swiftly enter enemy territory and frag out opponents. Her High Gear [E] allows the agents to run at an electrifying speed, and the alt-fire button makes her slide into an enemy to drag them out. When used with her Relay Bolt [Q], which concusses enemies when hit, this agent can be devastating.

Her ultimate ability Overdrive [X] is an energy beam that has a high damage output and is accurate while moving. Furthermore, it constantly replenishes its energy with every kill, so that’s a plus for this game mode

Pheonix

This sassy duelist is a good call for this game mode. Phoenix is Valorant’s original agent, who was in the game along with Jett right from the launch. His Hot Hands [E] and Blaze [C] abilities can not only damage opponents but also heal Phoenix passively. Moreover, this ability, Curveball [Q], acts as a flash that can curve and pop in a short distance. This ability makes Pheonix feared in every game mode of Valorant.

Pheonix’s Ultimate ability, Run It Back [X], creates a timer where Pheonix can go into enemy territory aggressively and frighten enemies without the fear of getting killed, as dying just brings back the agent at the spot where the ability was used. This makes this agent great in this game mode.

Honorable Mentions: Breach & Sage

Since mobility is the key to this game mode, these two agents can shine in this game mode.

  • Breach: This agent’s standard ability, Faultline [E], creates a seismic blast in a straight line. Any enemy, when caught in it, would be concussed with blurry vision and really slow movement speed. Furthermore, his Flashpoint [Q] is good for entering enemy territory or checking behind covers as it flashes areas behind solid walls.
  • Sage: One of the starting agents of Valorant, Sage is a good agent for this game mode. Her Healing Orb [E] can heal allies and herself, making her a decent pick for the mode. Also, her Slow Orb [Q] restricts enemy movements making them vulnerable.

This new game mode is expected to go live on June 27 at 2 p.m. PT/5 p.m. ET with the release of Episode 7, Act 1. Players should be ready to dive into this game mode with the agents mentioned on the list. Furthermore, this update will have loads of new stuff and finally a new sentinel agent after years of waiting. So players’ hype for this upcoming update is greatly justified.
