Belgium, the FIFA top ranked team in World football continue with their dominance on the major occasions as they maintained their hundred percent win record to top their group B standing in the Euro 2020, cruising past a helpless Finland 2-0 on the way. After back to back wins against Russia and Denmark, Belgium once again ushered their utmost dominance in this match against Finland, outplaying the Finnish for most of the game. Belgium came close but couldn’t break the deadlock untill the 74th minute when Vermaelen’s head ricocheted off the bar and off Finland keeper Hradecky to put them in lead. At the 81st minute, Lukaku doubled their lead with a brilliant hold up play in the box, coolly slotting onto the corner in a swift half turn, as Finland failed to make anything out of the last ten minutes. With this result, Finland are now third on goal difference and will be depending on the results of other third placed teams in other groups for their qualification into the knockouts.
Belgium Player Ratings

Very little to do throughout but pounced on whatever came his way.

Tireless running and defending. Belgium can largely benefit form his stamina. Good ball playing capabilities.

Positive performance coming off the bench. Defended well, offering very little space. Also helped in Belgium’s opening goal with a powerful header which ricocheted off the bar and the goalkeeper to go in.
Dedryck Boyata – 6/10
Looked shaky initially but grew into the back

Good midfield work blocking off Finland’s attack midway. Also helped the ball forward in some occasions.

Once again did what he does the best. Controlled game at the heart of Belgian attack, creating chances frequently. Assisted Belgium’s second goal with a fine and neat pass for Lukaku.
Jeremy Doku – 7/10
Looked lovely as long as he was on the pitch. Constantly troubled the Finland defenders with his mazy runs and pace with and without the ball. Saw some good shots saved by Hradecky.
Eden Hazard – 7/10
Showed signs of being back at his fine form. Created some balls and found spaces behind the Finland defence. Glanced one shot wide and one powerful drive was saved by Hradecky.

Once again a brilliant performance from the Inter Milan striker. Excellent hold up play, looked good on the ball. Scored his third of the tournament with a delightful turn and finish from inside the box, shielding off his marker. Had one goal cancelled out due to a harsh offside.

Finland Player Ratings
Lukas Hradecky – 7/10
Easily Finland’s best player of the night. Kept out scores of chances and made two good saves off Doku and Hazard. Was unfortunate to be given the own goal when the ball ricocheted off him and had nothing much to do for the second.
Raitala – 5/10
Not a noteworthy performance in defence. Dominated by Doku.
Toivio – 5.5/10
Was made short work by the Belgian forwards as he was but put up a good fight. Made some good blocks.
Arajuuri – 5/10
Not a very praiseworthy performance but had the grit to fight on.
O’Shaughnessy – 5.5/10
Very forgetful performance from the Fin. Let Lukaku make the turn and shoot which resulted in the goal, offering almost no physical challenge.
Uronen – 5/10
Overrun by the Belgian midfield and had a bad day at work.
Lod – 5/10
Wasn’t given much of an opportunity to shine by a dominant Belgian midfield. Almost invisible throughout the game.
Sparv – 6/10
Despairing performance form the skipper. Looked lackluster but fought on
Kamara – 6/10
Worked tirelessly but to vain. Didn’t get the support .
Pohjanpalo – 6/10
Wasn’t visible much. Had a shot on target in the second half which was saved comfortably by Courtois.

Very little impact throughout the game. Kept silent mostly by a dominant Belgian defence.
Schuller – 4.5/10
