Scuderia Ferrari has had a rollercoaster of a season in 2024. Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz showed promising pace at the start of the year before a poor stint in recent races. However, the Italian team has bounced back with an incredible 1-2 finish at the US GP.

Charles Leclerc leads Ferrari’s 1-2 finish this weekend. This is the Scuderia’s first 1-2 in the US since the 2006 race at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Leclerc was delighted to secure this special victory, highlighting that the race weekend had not been easy for him and the team.

The Monegasque driver pointed out that he was having issues with the car. However, Charles Leclerc was much more comfortable during the race as he drove off to an easy victory. The 26-year-old was glad to have the upper hand against Max Verstappen and Lando Norris on Sunday.

I was struggling with the car but today in the race the feeling was better. We thought after the Sprint the others would improve a lot, but we still had the upper hand.

At the start of the race, Leclerc capitalized on the battle between Verstappen and Norris to clinch the lead. The Monegasque mentioned that things turned out exactly how he wanted. Moreover, the Ferrari driver highlighted that his ‘mega pace’ in the first stint made things easier for the rest of the race.

It was a pretty good Turn 1, that as exactly what I wanted to do. That helped out first stint as we had mega pace. The pace of the car was really, really good.

Certainly, Leclerc’s win in Austin has rejuvenated Ferrari’s hopes for the remainder of the 2024 season. Maranello has proved that it still has the pace to defeat Red Bull and McLaren. As such, fans can expect exciting battles in the last five races.
