Max Verstappen‘s stellar performance in the 2024 season has enabled him to be placed amongst the greats in Formula 1. However, the Dutchman has also collected a lot of penalty points over the season due to his aggressive and elbows-out diving style. Lewis Hamilton on the other hand showcased a steadfast performance this season amidst Mercedes’ performance issues.
Ex-F1 driver David Coulthard commented on Max Verstappen‘s aggressive driving style while talking highly of Lewis Hamilton. Recalling the aggressive drivers on track, Coulthard reckoned that Verstappen deserved to be in the same category as Ayrton Senna, Michael Schumacher, and Hamilton. However, the Briton reckoned that the 39-year-old was different from the rest as he had done it in an ‘uncontroversial manner’.
Coulthard further applauded Hamilton’s driving style and ability to steer clear of any major controversial performances. This attribute from the seven-time world champion enabled him to stay different from other highly achieved drivers in Formula 1. As a result, the Ex-Red Bull driver labeled the Mercedes star as an ‘anomaly’ in the group of ‘villains’.
