Aston Martin driver Fernando Alonso answered some questions by the I/AM members of the team ahead of the Mexican GP. Alonso makes the 400th race start of his career at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez racing circuit on Sunday.
Fernando Alonso is one of the most respected and talented drivers at the pinnacle of motorsport. He has been racing for over 20 years and is a two-time world champion. Despite being 43 years old, Alonso still holds a lot of pace and prowess to race in Formula 1 for at least a few years.
The Spaniard was asked about his choice to go up against three drivers for his last go-kart race. Alonso replied that Max Verstappen, Lewis Hamilton, and rally driver Sebastian Ogier would be his picks. He also hilariously mentioned taking them to different go-kart circuits for the race.

Alonso has not had a fruitful run this season, securing only 62 points for the Silverstone-based unit. He is hopeful of racing until the end of 2026, which will offer him fresher chances in the coming years.

Red Bull team principal Christian Horner has witnessed Fernando Alonso’s journey as a Formula 1 driver from the 2005 season onwards. He holds immense praise for the veteran who continues to set an example for the rest of the grid.
Christian Horner believes in Alonso’s capabilities, claiming that the latter can still win races with a competitive car. The 50-year-old has applauded the Spaniard’s longevity and fitness to continue for over two decades in Formula 1.
Alonso has expressed his desire to win a much-awaited third world championship before retiring from Formula 1. He now hopes for Aston Martin to make a better car in 2025 to help him fulfill his dream.
