The Abu Dhabi GP was an extremely emotional affair for Lewis Hamilton as it was his last race with Mercedes after 12 years. The team was also preparing a mega farewell for the Ferrar-bound driver. Hence, following the end of the race, Toto Wolff said some things on the team radio to Hamilton. Ex-F1 team boss Guenther Steiner has called out the team principal and labeled the comments ‘bulls**t’.

By the end of the race, Lewis Hamilton was very emotional and put forth his feelings on the team radio. Even Toto Wolff felt the same and claimed that Hamilton deserved to win if Mercedes wasn’t able to. Guenther Steiner wasn’t mincing his words while calling out the fake nature of the Mercedes boss.

Steiner reckoned that Wolff didn’t truly wish that Hamilton was able to win with Ferrari while Mercedes suffered. The 59-year-old believed that all the sweet comments from Brackley to the 39-year-old were just ‘Bulls**it’ for the camera.

Oh no, he doesn’t wish that on him, That was just bullshit for the camera, that was just for the camera.

Guenther Steiner said on the Red Flags podcast.

Toto Wolff doesn’t ‘really care’ who wins the races

Mercedes suffered from a very mediocre performance in the 2024 season despite scoring multiple race wins. As a result, the team must work hard on their pace to be able to contend for race wins and championships in the coming season. Guenther Steiner further noted that Wolff had no reason to be happy if anyone else won races on the grid. The reason for this was that the Austrian didn’t care about who won races except for Hamilton.

No, because he didn’t win it. There can be only one winner. I mean, why should he be happy, you know? He said, ‘If it is not us, it should be you’. Yeah, for sure, but if he doesn’t win it, he doesn’t really care who wins it, in my opinion.

Guenther Steiner added.

Ferrari has high hopes from Hamilton heading into the 2025 season. The seven-time world champion is believed to take the Italian constructor back to their championship-winning ways in Formula 1. Maranello’s upturning pace this season is a highly motivating factor for the 39-year-old heading to the team.
